Releases Monograph & Teleport-X – Baltic Pearl [Deepwibe Underground] By Release Promo Posted on 28th April 2020 6 min read 0 1 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin Monograph & Teleport-X return to Deepwibe Underground for their first ever collaboration. Hailing from Estonia and Argentina respectively the duo have enjoyed remarkable success in their respective solo careers. Releases on Droid9, ICONYC, Polyptych and BC2 highlight their discographies, with 2020 promising to be their best year yet. Now uniting for the first time, Monograph & Teleport-X present their debut collaboration 'Baltic Pearl' alongside remixes from AMPISH, Ivanshee and The Loco. Beginning with the original mix Monograph & Teleport-X explore the deep, hypnotic spectrum of progressive music. On a bed of warm beats and fluid bass tones, comes finely tuned percussion, crisp stabs and buzzing electronics. Smooth and uplifting as the narrative evolves, it’s the break which brings the greatest emotional response. Carefully constructed, it’s subtle build and wonky cascades are esoteric in mood, perfectly resetting your mind for a haunting finale. The three remixes provided all do an excellent job of taking the original track somewhere a bit different while retaining it's spirit quite nicely. Solomun favourite and Sidra label boss AMPISH is first up with a more contemporary take on the track. It's spacious framework is both punchy and dynamic, while the reprocessed main theme works in perfect unison with an additional arp and that distinctive stab. Definitely one for the more clued up dance floors out there. Next up Ivanshee goes for a peaktime approach with tougher beats and a gargantuan groove. Choppy percussion adds further fuel to it's driving fervour as timely overlays add just the right emotional touch. The contrast between the stabs and reprocessed tones is quite unique, a wondrous mix of grit and texture against a gentle incandescent light if you will. It all comes to full realization after a short and timely break, with all the elements merging for an arcane finale. The release concludes with The Loco providing the third and final interpretation of 'Baltic Pearl'. The Russian born, China based artist provides another gem here, taking the main themes from the original and utilizing them is a less distinct fashion, rather relying on smooth emotive lines and indistinct vocals to push it's poignant storyboard. The main break is short but impactful, elevating the melodic narrative and setting up a goosebump worthy finale that should find favour with old school progressive house fans. A gorgeous remix from The Loco which caps off another excellent offering from Deepwibe Underground who are most certainly on a roll right now. highly recommended.
