Deersky's Soundteller Records welcomes Nishan Lee back to the label for a new single entitled 'Ritual'. Currently one of Sri Lanka’s hottest electronic music exports, Nishan also owns releases on Asymmetric Recordings, Juicebox Music and Movement Recordings. Having first appeared on Soundteller Records in July of 2017 with a remix of David Di Sabato's 'Between The Lines', Nishan now returns for a highly anticipated single alongside remixes from Christian Monique, Danidu & Hasith and Lucas Rossi.

Already featured by Hernan Cattaneo on his hugely popular Resident podcast, it's the original mix which opens up the release. Deep, dreamy and tastefully minimal it shows a different side of Nishan who has been exploring new sonic territory of late. It's delicate design is inviting and meticulously tailored, while a bevy of subtle yet congruently powerful motifs work in unison throughout the hypnotic storyboard. A classy creation from Nishan.

Three stunning remixes take the track into decidedly different and exciting directions beginning with Christian Monique. The Italy based artist has been hugely prolific of late with a remix of Audiostorm's 'Invisible Girl' being his most sought after, widely regarded and best selling production to date. Now making his Soundteller debut Christian brings 'Ritual' a bit closer to peak time territory. Backed by a tougher more robust framework, it's a mix which carries a larger presence from the outset. The overall narrative is closely tied to the original but with additional arps and an icier atmospheric backdrop. Perhaps most impactful is the beginning of the third act, perfectly setup by a short break, it's stripped drop comes off quite powerful and ultimately seals a strong finale.

Further proof that Sri Lanka is becoming one of the progressive scene's most talent rich regions are Danidu & Hasith. The Serendeep label bosses are sometime studio partners, most recently crafting a stunning remix for PHW Elements and Ricardo Piedra. Now coming together for their third collaboration, Danidu and Hasith provide a pure progressive take on 'Ritual'. Smooth, free flowing and full of great rhythmic qualities, it’s a mix which adds nicely to the tranquil narrative of the original. Following an array of astral designs and cosmic effects it's the main break which really hits home. The lead motif comes off quite spiritual, radiating a soulful quality while still retaining all of it's mystical charm. It provides the prefect prelude to a driving, heady and refreshingly atmospheric conclusion. A stunning remix from Danidu & Hasith which turns out to be our favourite on the release. Can't wait to hear more from these two great talents.

The release concludes with Lucas Rossi returning to the label for his second appearance. With a discography that includes releases on Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden and Antrim's Or Two Strangers, Lucas now follows up a single for Stripped Recordings with a superb interpretation of 'Ritual'. Undeniably warm, it’s rippling foundation is immediately inviting as waves of percussion and spacey arps encase the framework. Smooth melodic concepts spark emotional intrigue before melting down into a hazy sonic collage, further elevating the mood before a gentle rush ignites a free flowing finale. An amazing remix from Lucas which caps off another well rounded release for Deersky's Soundteller Records. Highly recommended.
