B.A.X. – Litany [Soundteller Records]

Deersky's Soundteller Records adds another impressive name to their roster with B.A.X. making his label debut. Classically trained, the Vietnamese artist owns an impressive discography highlighted by releases on fryhide, Manual Music and Sound Avenue. Now continuing an impressive run of projects, the Ho Chi Minh City resident lands on Soundteller with 'Litany'.

Known for his sonic versatility, B.A.X. explores the deep, dreamy realms of house on 'Litany'. Undeniably charming, it’s an eight minute journey of glowing arps, flowing textures and exotic drums. Profoundly meditative, rising atmospheres continue to elevate mood across the first act, before a serene centrepiece ultimately seals it's emotional appeal.

The companion piece ‘Corals Realm’ carries a similar design profile to its predecessor. Reflective in tone, it’s emotive prowess is undeniable, with layer upon layer of textural colour blanketing pulsating rhythms and warm bass swells perfectly. The combination of poignant arps and heartfelt harmonics lies at the core of the narrative, as gentle modulation pushes the sonic envelope just enough for an understated apex. Two stunning productions from B.A.X. which not only make for a hugely successful Soundteller debut but also further cements that he is an artist most certainly operating at a creative peak.
