John Johnson's ICONYC opens the month of April with a fresh collaboration from ANMA and Aves Volare. Based in Berlin and Frankfurt respectively, this German duo are highly regarded in the melodic house & techno world. Collectively ANMA and Aves have showcased their music on top tier imprints such as Eleatics Records, Mango Alley and Stil Vor Talent, while earning praise from the genre's premiere tastemakers. Now joining forces once again ANMA and Aves land on ICONYC with 'Storm' alongside remixes from Sean & Dee and Eric Rose.

Beginning with the original mix, ANMA and Aves deliver one of their best productions to date. Led by a dark cavernous groove, it’s electric rhythms and astral sonics unite for an interstellar storyboard. Quirky and cool, cosmic synth phrasing delights during the first act, as a maze of percussion and drums pushes momentum forward. Dark and mysterious across the main break, it’s flair for the dramatic grows with the introduction of a mystical vocal, sitting against carefully placed and wonderfully heartfelt pianos, before getting washed away in a rush of beats and effects for a storming finale.

ICONYC stalwarts Sean & Dee return to provide the first remix which complements the original quite well. Tougher and more aggressive, it's fiery nature is perfect for a peak time dance floor and yet manages to pull huge emotion during the break. A rough and rugged groove coupled with striking percussion and crisp effects build such a large amount of tension that it's eventual release during the break is monumental. Massive stuff from Sean & Dee.

Rounding out the release and providing the second and final remix is Eric Rose who makes his label debut. Famed for releases on Freegrant Music and Timeless Moment, the Ukrainian artist now brings his talents to ICONYC with a stellar interpretation. Electrically charged with tough beats and a tighter take on the groove, it’s pulsating energy beams brightly from the outset. The vocal plays a bigger role than the previous two versions, drifting across the first act, before taking centrestage during a poignant break. Wisely shifting the narrative again, the drop brings that dark electricity back as the vocals and piano give way to crunchy rhythms and a vortex of arps. An outstanding remix from the talented Ukrainian which caps off another excellent offering from John Johnson's ICONYC. Highly recommended.
