Releases The Cobb – Five Minutes [-102C] By Release Promo Posted on 12th December 2022 8 min read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin Deepwibe Underground's -102C closes out a successful year with a new EP from The Cobb. Building on what was a breakout year in 2021, Russian artist The Cobb continued to rise in the world of Organic House across 2022. In releasing eight originals and three remixes The Cobb earned support from genre tastemakers Armen Miran, Atish, Hermanez, Sabo and more. Now, rounding out the year with his biggest project to date, The Cobb returns to -102C with 'Five Minutes', alongside remixes from Bodaishin and Not Demure. Picking up on the themes he brought to ‘Spring Time’, The Cobb has created two new tracks rich with spirit and allusion. Beginning with the unique vocal fragments and exotic drums of ‘Five Minutes’, an unexpected mood is revealed through charming musicality and tasteful sonics. Evoking a bucolic style ecstasy, this rolling piece eventually breaks into a groovy vocal-infused finale, one that is sure to lift the mood of your dance floor. Moving forward with ‘Underwater Serinades’, The Cobb sustains an understated yet confident club energy. Fluttery drum arrangements and voluptuous bass lines set the course for airy vocal motifs and hopeful atmospheres. Panoramic sequences and wispy effects provide a timely interlude, before breaking off into a smooth rush of clattering percussion and rolling rhythmic structures. The lone interpretation of 'Five Minutes' is provided by Bodaishin who makes his label debut. Beloved for his releases via Do Not Sit, The Soundgarden and his own Circle of Life imprint, the Spanish artist crafts a gorgeous take on 'Five Minutes'. Mysterious and elusive in equal measure, it's a foundation of rolling grooves and capsizing rhythms which make this such a strong dance floor excursion. Clever percussive coactions underpin a fascinating blend of transcendent projections as the journey unfolds, before segueing into a finale of shimmering tones and groove-driven euphoria. The release concludes with Not Demure returning to the label for the lone interpretation of 'Underwater Serinades'. Having remixed The Cobb and Ryan (AR) earlier this year for the label, Argentinean born, Spain based artist Not Demure now reworks The Cobb once again with sensational results. Often finding a nice balance between organic and progressive house, the Balearic Islands resident goes for a dubbier approach here, with warm chunky grooves and nicely manicured percussion laying the foundation. Undeniably positive throughout, its buoyant bass tones do wonders to create depth, space and swing, while youthful atmospheres and metallic clusters emerge across the break, perfectly foreshadowing a groovy finale. A stellar interpretation from Not Demure, which rounds out an excellent release from The Cobb and -102C to end the year. Highly recommended.
