Agustin Pietrocola – Hold [Deepwibe Underground]

Rounding out the year in style, Deepwibe Underground welcomes Agustin Pietrocola back to the label for a new EP. On the strength of releases for Mango Alley, Movement Recordings and One Of A Kind, Agustin made his Deepwibe Underground debut in 2021 with 'Jewels'. The Argentinean artist would then go on to remix Kamilo Sanclemente's 'Revenge of Jedi' for the label earlier this year, along with key projects for Juicebox Music and SLC-6 Music. Now continuing to build a bond with Deepwibe Underground, Agustin returns with 'Hold', alongside a remix from Kostya Outta.

Beginning with the title track, Agustin crafts a peak time style progressive cut for which he has become known for. Charged beats, muscular basslines and a tight crunchy arp set the course for sweeping effects and glowing overlays to work their magic. The main arp rises and percolates across the main break, while warm bass swells push emotion forward to a driving finale. Meanwhile, on 'The End' Agustin continues his assault on the dance floor with another hook heavy atmospheric riser. Bright chord stabs make up the primary lead here, as a thunderous well carved groove and flashing percussive arrangements play off crunchy rhythms and shape-shifting atmospheres for an energetic eight minute journey.

The release concludes with Kostya Outta returning to the label for the lone interpretation of 'The End'. Fresh off his collaboration with Argentinean talent Bodai, the Belarus based artist proves once again why he's one of the more in demand remixers out there. The low end immediately grabs your attention with its unique contour and stunning design qualities, while a quirky lead and timely effects add swing and colour leading into the break. Looking to bring greater emotional depth, the interlude melts right down to warm cinematic swells and granular textures, before giving way to the lead motif and bubbly groove for an epic swing heavy finale. A mega remix from Kostya which rounds out another excellent offering from both Agustin Pietrocola and Deepwibe Underground. Highly recommended,
