Shayan Pasha – Leaves on the Wall [Movement Limited]

Tash's Movement Limited opens the summer season by welcoming Shayan Pasha to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Iran, Shayan Pasha first emerged as a DJ in 2010 where he quickly became a fixture of his country's nightlife, performing alongside some of the world's top progressive house talents. A production career would follow shortly thereafter, where early releases via Area Verde, Massive Harmony Records and his own Wander Nation imprint would establish Shayan as a name to watch. 2023 proved to be Shayan's most prolific and successful year to date, notching key projects for Droid9, MNL and Transensations, while also receiving play from progressive house icon Hernan Cattaneo on multiple occasions. Also finding a home on parent label Movement Recordings earlier this year with a contribution to the 'Technical Progress, Vol. 14' collection, Shayan now adds Movement Limited to his resume with a two-track showcase 'Leaves on the Wall'.

'Leaves on the Wall' gets the release underway and sits as one of Shayan's most engaging productions to date. Plush kick drums and smooth contoured grooves set the foundation for a narrative of organic percussive arrangements and playful melodies. Pushing a daytime mood into the break; Shayan marries heartfelt themes with trailing sonics and charming overlays to great effect, building anticipation and emotion with each successive pass, as a sharp build eventually gives way to a thumping drop and grooved-out finale.

The companion piece 'Dancing With Wolves' acts as a perfect complement with its whimsical yet highly emotive sound. Looking to bring even stronger musicality to his portfolio, Shayan flexes his melody crafting prowess once again, with a playful top line adding youthful exuberance to a sturdy club-effective groove. The main break proves to be the highlight however, flowing through timely modulation and drum flurries, expertly intertwined for maximum emotional response, before tight beats and hazy musical co-actions unite for a gorgeous finale that's sure to be a hit on all the daytime dancefloors out there.
