As a staple of the progressive house scene for the better part of a decade, the Hungarian artist has showcased his music on 3rd Avenue, Balkan Connection and Stellar Fountain. Now following a joint single via Droid9 to end 2020, Jose begins the new year with his Just Movement debut 'Agave' alongside remixes from Jaap Ligthart and NOIYSE PROJECT. Beginning with the original mix Jose dives into the pure progressive side of his repertoire. It’s muscular beats and well contoured groove carry a large presence, while waves of arps and layers of percussion advance the narrative. As momentum builds, warm overlays and emotive chord changes play off each other for gorgeous moments, before indistinct vocals add a new dimension leading into a heavenly finale. Returning to the label and providing the first remix is Jaap Ligthart. The Dutch artist first appeared on the Dutch imprint in 2017 with a remix of 'Rosa Petalos' by Christ Malvin & Ivan Sandhas. Consistent and innovative, Jaap lays claim to an impressive discography, having showcased his music via Manual Music, Selador, Songspire and more. Continuing what was a prolific 2020, Jaap now begins the new year with an inspired take on 'Agave'. Backed by a warm, chunky groove Jaap takes the emotive ethos of the original and translates it beautifully in a slightly deeper, more playful context. Buoyant, musical and undeniably poignant, it sits as a great complement to the traditional sounding original. The second and final interpretation of 'Agave' is provided by NOIYSE PROJECT who makes his label debut. The Sri Lankan artist have been touted as one of his country’s fastest rising progressive producers. Upon making his debut in September of 2018, NOIYSE PROJECT has gone on to showcase his music on Balkan Connection, BeatFreak Limited, Droid9, Proton’s Particles and The Soundgarden. Now following remixes for BC2 and Massive Harmony to end the year, NOIYSE PROJECT turns in a powerful rendition of 'Agave' to begin 2020. The tempo and drive shift up a notch for more of a peak time flavoured feel, while the emotional context of the original gets downplayed during the first act. The Sri Lankan's trademark percussion sounds wonderful here, with layers upon layers of intricate hits adding bounce and drive to the groove. The main break opens everything up, exploring the musical sensibilities from the original, before getting washed away in a wave of fragmented vocals and white noise for a spirited finale.
