Dm (Mx) – Nature [Happy Camper Records]

Out now, is a tribal organic house release by Dm (Mx) who is a Mexico-based artist that is also one half of The Soul Brothers. The release orientates around Dm (Mx)’s original track “Nature” but also features a selection of remixes.

Two of the remix versions are by Unders who in conjunction with Noraj Cue and Britta Arnold, runs Happy Camper Records which is the label putting out the release.

One of Unders remixes is a solo effort and the other is a collaboration with Ape Chimba who is a Spanish artist from Ibiza. The release also features a remix by The Soul Brothers which sees the original artist team up with the other half of his production duo.

Nature is a powerful track with tropical atmospherics mixed with shamanistic sounds that wrap around the upbeat energy of tribal percussion. Despite its mid-range tempo, the track has a powerful groove with strong percussive sounds.

Unders delivers a remix in the style he is known for releasing via the likes of Sol Selectas and teaming up with Ape Chimba, they add vocal chants that complement the Aboriginal vibe of the percussion. Unders solo version is a dub mix that removes their added vocals.

The Soul Brothers have featured on labels like Abracadabra Music and Magician On Duty. Their remix adds a rolling bassline and extra high-end percussion that complements the original’s drum rhythms to create a lighter version with a mesmerising groove.

It’s a very well-put-together release with a lot of crossover appeal due to the captivating tension of the percussion.
