David Di Sabato – Between The Lines [Soundteller Records] The latest release from Deersky's Soundteller Records welcomes David Di Sabato to the label. The Italian artist has previously appeared on Progressive House Worldwide and Suffused Music where his melodic sound has flourished. Now making a step up David makes his much anticipated debut on Soundteller alongside remixes from Fer J and Nishan Lee. Most of David's productions sit in the 125 BPM range with a healthy dose of melody but his latest 'Between The Lines' comes it mid-tempo and quite laid back in comparison. Jangly melodies and a broken beat foundation lie at the core of the track while subtle shifts in atmosphere pull even more emotion at key points in the narrative. A lovely piece of music and also timely given the season, kudos to Soundteller for picking it up. As you would expect the remixes bring the elements closer to the dance floor beginning with Fer J. The Portuguese artist made his debut on Soundteller in February with his 'Moments' EP and has since appeared on Read More
Paul Deep – Banshee [Balkan Connection] Paul Deep makes his Balkan Connection debut this week with 'Banshee'. The Argentinean artist is fresh off releases on Dopamine Music, Or Two Strangers and Sound Avenue, all of which have found their place in the progressive underground. Now making his first appearance on Balkan Connection Paul presents his latest single alongside remixes from Anton MAKe, Erdi Irmak and Sebastian Franco. Known for his pure progressive productions, Paul has come up with another gem in 'Banshee'. Deep and pulsating from the outset the piece moves forward with buzzing synths and clattering percs. There's a nice dramatic sense about it, subtle but ever growing and ultimately quite powerful as a result. The main break excels with its modular storyboard, simple but very effective and carrying nicely into a heady finale. First up on the remixes is Anton Make who returns to the label for his eighth appearance. The Russian artist provides a more club oriented version with a strong percussive cadence. Th Read More

Also a resident at the Recycle Lounge Gallery Club in Amsterdam Marc now makes his much anticipated MNL debut alongside remixes from Jaap Ligthart and Erich Von Kollar. The original mix will be a delight for long time progressive house fans. I can't help but hear some of the pixie days circa 2004 inside this one. There's a touch of James Holden and Luke Chable beaming from those melodies, while it's flow is silky smooth with just the right transitional moments. Warm, fluid and very organic in design it makes for a pleasant listen or a playful dance floor romp. Great stuff from Marc. The remixer selection is really on point with two of the scenes mavens Jaap Ligthart and Erich Von Kollar delivering gorgeous renditions. First Read More
Li-Polymer – Conventu [ICONYC] John Johnson's ICONYC imprint returns for one it's most anticipated releases of the year from Li-Polymer. There are few artists who have transformed their sound and enjoyed a quicker rise than the Portuguese ptoducer. A release on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music stands out along with several top projects for Tash's Movement Recordings. Now making a much welcome return to ICONYC Li-Polymer presents his latest creation entitled 'Conventu' alongside remixes from Be Morais and Wanderlust. As Li-Polymer has evolved as an artist we've seen his productions leave the traditional progressive house blueprint into something all his own. His latest 'Conventu' is a deep, dubby affair with great aesthetic qualities. The drum work is drool worthy, so organic, with lovely character and space while several astral motifs and killer vocal elements fill in the framework. It reminds me a bit of Brian Cid's work in a way which is of course a great thing but this is on a dreamier atmospheric plane ultim Read More

Now with the 2017 summer season in full swing BTechNoir invites Dave Seaman, Quivver and Kri Samadhi to invent the track for what is the labels most anticipated offering to date. First up Selador boss Dave Seaman goes deep and mystical with his 'Desert Hearts' rework. Backed by a warm groove, the UK artist uses the vocal to great effect, creating a mesmerizing, meditative loop which adds nicely to the track's rhythmic core. Raspy synth hooks and a gorgeous harmonic wave are perhaps where the magic lies though. A gorgeous contrast with a bevy of emotive moments getting generated here and Dave seems to have his pulse on exactly when to let go, venturing back to t Read More

Now we see Slideways inviting two incredible artists of their own in Subandrio and Dustin Nantais to re-interpret the piece for 2017. Kicking the release off and making his Slideways debut is Subandrio. The Sri Lankan artist has been at the forefront of the nu-progressive movement since appearing on Cid Inc's Replug Records in 2015. It paved the way for his rugged sound, and he went on to many great successes as a result, including an appearance on Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeats 3 collection later that year.
