With a career that spans just over a half decade, the German duo has achieved measurable success, taking their melodic club friendly sound to Beatfreak, Future Romance, Lost On You, Parquet Recordings and more. No strangers to ICONYC, the Stuttgart residents made their label debut in 2021 with 'Find You', a track which was remixed by fellow country-man Clawz SG and Jurek Riegler. Now, following an EP for Androgyne Audio to begin the year, Add-us returns to ICONYC with a two-track showcase entitled 'Phases'. As one of the biggest productions of their career, 'Phases' creates an electric energy from the outset. Punchy beats and tight rippling grooves unite for a fluid low end, while ping-pong arps, spacey effects and striking stabs add nicely to its prophetic nature. The narrative evolves as the main break takes shape, as emotive synth phrasing and filtered effects perfectly segue into a thunderous drop and epic finale. The release concludes with ‘Light the Way’ which lands with a similarly brilliant peak time presence. Add-us masterfully synthesizes their talents into one singular ethereal vision, as trance-inducing pads and gated synths blanket punchy beats and machine gun grooves. The main break bridges the gap between cinematic tension and grandiose flair, as glowing pads breathe in all their glory, perfectly setting the stage for a spine-tingling build and a finale which rounds the release out with a nice balance of space and emotion. highly recommended.
