Originally released in March of this year alongside a remix from Alfonso Muchacho it went down as one of the UK imprints most successful singles of the year. The Cyprus duo has been hotly tipped in 2018 with a string of Beatport chart hits and live support from Hernan Cattaneo. Now Superordinate looks to extend the tracks legacy with new interpretations from Jonnas B and Imran Khan. First up Jonnas B makes his label debut following releases on PHW Elements, Massive Harmony Records and Stellar Fountain. Based in Medellín, the Colombian artist has become one of his countries top up and coming artists. His progressive minded sound has worked well on ‘Tribute’, resulting in a melancholic rework that’s a joy to listen or dance to. Warm and smooth from the outset, it’s ethereal motifs and cascading themes work incredibly well together, leading to a highly memorable and heartfelt break. Executed with precision and taste, it’s a classy interlude with a pleasant nod to the original and a gorgeous transition into the final act. The second and final interpretation of ‘Tribute’ is provided by Imran Khan who is also making his label debut. The UK based artist has found a home on some of progressive music’s longest running imprints, including Proton’s Particles and Stellar Fountain. Now fresh off a remix for the surging Clubsonica Records, Imran rounds out the release with a brilliant rendition of ‘Tribute’. Anchored by a bulbous kick and subterranean groove it’s the mixes harmonic flow which is most appealing. Silky smooth and full of emotive moments it’s a creation that’s nicely geared for closing a set or as a morning riser. A strong remix from Imran who continues to impress with each successive outing. It caps off another excellent remix edition from Superordinate Music that you’re sure to be hearing a lot in the coming months.
