Esthetique – Shadows [Balkan Connection]

Esthetique makes his much anticipated debut on Balkan Connection this week with ‘Shadows’. The Russian artist appeared on label affiliate BC2 in January of last year with his ‘Strange World’ single. Also owning releases on Stellar Fountain and Lincor, Esthetique now makes the jump to Balkan Connection with a brand new single alongside remixes from K Nass, Paul Hamilton and Jiminy Hop.

The Russian artist's sound has continued to evolve since arriving on the scene in 2009 with a release on Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic's Mistique Music. His latest entitled 'Shadows' shows the greatest growth and depth with a smooth, well contoured groove and playful yet meditative qualities. Clever beat layering adds further buoyancy to the narrative before an emotional apex is reached during a serene final act.
Three quality remixes accompany the original led by Northern Lights label boss K Nass. The Egyptian artist is a firm favorite in the progressive underground and his interpretation here adds nicely to his well kept discography. The main themes from the original translate quite well while additional percussive flurries and a massively captivating break seal it’s unique appeal.

One of the hottest progressive house artists of 2018 has undoubtedly been Paul Hamilton. The Dubai based producer has been riding high in Beatport’s Progressive House charts all summer and his remix here nails it on the head once again. Although known for his peak time productions Paul has gone a touch deeper and more atmospheric here with excellent results. Supremely hypnotic and rhythmically sound it’s a seven minute journey into meditative loops and astral effects that will keep you coming back for more. A late night gem from Paul.

The release concludes with Jiminy Hop providing the third and final interpretation. The Russian artist is making his fifth appearance on the Serbian imprint while also laying claim to releases on Just Movement, One Of A Kind and Stellar Fountain. Always a creative remixer, Jiminy transforms the smooth original into a driving slice of power prog. Complete with soaring melodies and crunchy synths it’s a modern day dance floor delight that rounds the release out on high note. Don’t miss it.
