Morttagua – 8th Sense [Timeless Moment]

The latest release on Timeless Moment finds label boss Morttagua back in the spotlight with a new take on his classic ‘7th Sense’. Originally released in 2015 courtesy of Black Hole Recordings it’s timeless melodic narrative sat as a high point in the Brazilian’s discography and now gets new life alongside a fresh remix from Robert Babicz.

Remaking a track with the elements that ‘7th Sense’ has for today’s modern sensibilities is no easy task but Morttagua has done a great job. Musically it’s still undeniably emotive and it’s warm, rippling low end only enhances its melodic prowess. The clap delays and grainy textures bring it nicely into today’s modern sound adding just the right amount of drama and tension along its eight minute journey.

The lone interpretation of ‘8th Sense’ is provided by Robert Babicz who is making his label debut. Polish born and based in Germany for quite some time Robert now calls Malta home. He has been one of the most influential artists over the course of his long and storied career. Robert’s discography is full of impeccably produced classics like ‘Dark Flower’ and ‘Remote Kiss’ along with many others which all stand the test of time remarkably well. He’s updated some of electronic music’s most revered classic’s like Hardfloor ‘Acperience 1′ and Cybordelics ‘Adventures of Dama’ which both appeared on Harthouse over 20 years ago. More recently Robert has several stellar productions released courtesy of John Digweed's Bedrock Records and his own Babiczstyle imprint. Here he brings a unique twist to ‘8th Sense’ with a driving, character filled bass line, new harmonic concepts and most of all a break which you’re sure to remember long after the night is over. Excellent stuff as always from Robert which rounds out a massive release for Morttagua and Timeless Moment.
