It's been just about a year since we last heard from the Russian imprint, February 6th of last year to be exact so to see a new release as 2018 begins is a pleasant surprise. 'Eivissa' is a dark, mysterious creation and one that shows Ewan's versatility by going a touch deeper. Warm fluid pads hover above the well sculpted groove while subtle but timely effects add just the right amount of drama. For as prolific as Ewan is the quality of his productions remain consistent and quite remarkable. Not sure if this is a sign we might see more regular releases from Sever but let's hope so. There are also two remixes on the release which lift the vibe into pure progressive territory, beginning with Luciano Scheffer who might be one of the genres most underrated artists. There's a richness to his productions that is quite inviting and it certainly comes through here once again. The drums and a lone buzzing synth sound quite organic and fluid, making the whole production feel effortless and for as ominous as the original was at points this is incredibly emotive. Killer remix from Luciano. Closing the release out is Jonatan Ramonda who we last heard from on Soundteller Records 'Vibrant Vibeland' 04 Collection. Also owning releases on BCSA and Suffused Music the Argentinean artist now makes his Sever Records debut with a great interpretation of 'Eivissa'. Smooth, driving and ultra progressive it's got that galloping groove and chuggy rhythmic core that's sure to be great for the dance floor. The effects storyboard it perhaps what's most exciting though, quite astral sounding, creating great space top to bottom and more than anything appeasing the senses nicely.
