Kelly Cappuccio – Chiquilla [DostroKid]

Kelly Cappuccio is an Italian artist making waves, and her new single, Chiquilla, is a percussive track with melodic bursts.

Out now, “Chiquilla” comes in three flavours, as Kelly Cappuccio presents a trio of different versions. Each version is true to the original concept of the track, which sits somewhere between Afro house and melodic techno.

The track’s defining element is its deep throated vocal chants, and the epic melody chords, which are underpinned by flowing drums sequenced into Afro rhythms.

It’s a package that showcases Kelly Cappuccio’s versatility as a producer, adding to a catalogue of previous releases, also including other genres such as tech house and techno.

She made her debut as a producer in 2024, and in the last few months, has been firing out regular releases on labels such as Mad Circle and VKT.

“Chiquilla” has been self-released via DistroKid, and the original version opens with a live conga loop, before the throbbing base and shuffling hi-hats are introduced. The vocals and melody are used sparsely in the build-up to the breakdown where they take full control.

There is also a ‘Techhouse’ version that refines the drums and makes the bassline more prominent. The ‘Afrobeat’ version keeps the drums raw, and pushes them to the front of the track.
