Juliane Wolf – Space Walk [Or Two Strangers]

Continuing to add new talent to their roster, Antrim’s Or Two Strangers welcomes Juliane Wolf to the label for her debut EP. Renowned for her melodic yet club effective style, German artist Juliane Wolf has carved out a sound all her own. Emerging in 2016 with releases via Cinematique and MNL, the Greiz resident would go on a near decade-long creative swell, recording standouts projects for Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden, EIN2 Poesie Musik and her own Wizarding Wolf imprint. Also, an accomplished DJ, Juliane has delighted crowds with her impeccable taste and exquisite programming skills, in turn performing at iconic events such Fusion Festival, while sharing the stage with Guy J, Marc Romboy, Robert Babicz and more. Now, fresh off her latest The Soundgarden vehicle ‘’Love Conquers All’, Juliane makes her Or Two Strangers debut with a two-track showcase entitled ‘Space Walk’.

Continuing to compose with strong musicality, Juliane crafts one of her most emotive productions to date in ‘Space Walk’. A poignant dance floor jaunt powered by buoyant kick drums and prismatic arps. Rather than burst into a whirlwind or electronic symphony, the German artist delivers emotion through slow burn repetition, dodging expectations and emphasizing her conceptual charm, painting bucolic scenes of solitude, as youthful motifs unveil a semi-conscious dreamland, before the Juliane’s creative attitude reveals itself during a goosebump inducing finale.

Beneath the emotive tidal waves of ‘Space Walk’ lies the heartfelt realities of ‘Amelia’. It is Juliane’s masterstroke to collaborate with Ukrainian born, German based cellist Polina Faustova. The duo masterfully synthesizes their talents into a genuine exchange of melody and colour, where themes of hope and reflection get translated by panoramic melodies, balmy textures and soulful phrasing. A gorgeous conclusion to a fresh two-track odyssey, one where Juliane carefully balances technique, groove and melody, resulting in yet another memorable project for the rising musical maverick.
