Releases Various Artists – Resonarium #003 [Soundteller Records] By Release Promo Posted on 29th January 2023 9 min read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin Rounding out the month of January, Deersky’s Soundteller Records presents the third edition of their ‘Resonarium’ series. With the first two volumes coming in May and August of last year, the series firmly established itself as a companion to the label's long-running Vibrant Vibeland series. Featured on the third installment (in order of appearance) are: Ishan (SL), Jonathan Fratamico, Enzo Vood, Mattia Musella & Sequënce (Ita), Luca Abayan, Redemption Sound, Harold Hochman, Martin Martin, GC System, MEL BELL, Chär Spinelli and Gonzalo Sanchez. Beginning in Sri Lanka, Ishan (SL) makes his label debut with 'Space Journey' following releases for Another Life Music and SLC-6 Music. The Bandarawela resident crafts a timeless progressive cut complete with well carved grooves, infectious rhythms and phasing atmospheres. Returning to label following contributions to Vibrant Vibeland #16 and ADE 2021 Sampler, American artist Jonathan Fratamico delivers a nostalgic piece with trancy overtones entitled 'Thriving'. Selection three heads back to Sri Lanka for Enzo Vood who makes his label debut with 'Destiny'. The Colombo resident crafts a poignant piece that relies on timely piano motifs and smooth effortless grooves to translate its message to the dance floor. The collection's lone collaboration comes from Mattia Musella & Sequënce (Ita) who make their label debut with 'Cosmos in the Cosmo'. Hailing from Spain and Italy respectively, the duo synthesize their talents into an old school sounding track with rolling grooves, timeless overlays and playful rhythmic themes. Selection five comes from Luca Abayan who makes his label debut following two appearances on Droid9. The Argentinean artist brings his progressive tech sound through big muscular beats, precise percussive arrangements, flickering arps and an array of gaseous effects. Energy remains fluid with ’Jupitor' from Redemption Sound who make their label debut. The Mar de Plata residents deliver a meditative progressive cut with intriguing vocal elements and a smooth hypnotic flow which is nicely suited for midset play. The release’s halfway point is marked with the label debut of Harold Hochman with ‘Gokstad’. The newcomer delivers a timeless track designed for the morning hours with its muted pianos and smooth yet funky groove. Martin Martin is up next, fresh off appearances on aboriginal and Future Avenue. The Argentinean artist provides one of the collection’s pacier tracks ‘We Are For Me’, which carries a wealth of frantic arps, played out over romping grooves and driving percussion. Hailing from Portugal, GC System’s ‘The Sooner The Bader’ also impresses with it's cross-cultural overtones, modular sounding grooves and spastic effects. German artist MEL BELL also makes his label debut with ‘Purple Moon’ following releases for Pipe & Pochet and Hexagonal Music. The Hamburg resident delivers one of the release's most thought provoking creations, with misty sonics and clattering percussion paving the way for tepid overlays and soulful vocal phrasing. The release’s second last cut is provided by Chär Spinelli who makes his label debut with ‘Earth Chaman’. The Uruguayan artist presents some impressive drum arrangements and haunting vocal pads which create a cross-cultural vibe leading into the collection's final track ‘Where We Are’ by Gonzalo Sanchez. With previous releases via 3rd Avenue, Electronic Tree and Future Avenue, the Argentinean artist puts a cap on the release with a playful progressive groover, complete with youthful melodic qualities, ultimately rounding out the release with memorable and reflective tones.
