Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint opens the month of August by presenting the fourth installment of their 'Re:Imagined' series. With the inaugural edition landing in February of 2020, these Various Artists EP showcases take a look back over the label's catalog, presenting new interpretations from some of the freshest talent in the underground. Not bound by genre or style, the first three installments in the series earned praise for their contemporary blend of organic, progressive and deep house sounds. Now presenting the fourth installment in the series, Sound Avenue invites GMJ, Jayden Klight, Mundos Sutis, Yudi Watanabe and Ric Niels to re-interpret tracks by Beije, Joe Miller, Pedro Capelossi, Madloch and Eric Lune.

Returning to the label and unveiling a new interpretation of Beije's 'Azimuth' is GMJ. Based in Melbourne, Australian artist GMJ has been a primary figure in the progressive house scene for over a decade. His passion for deep and emotive electronic music has seen him land releases on the industry's most esteemed imprints. From Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music to Cid Inc's Replug Records and UK behemoth Anjunadeep, it's GMJ's storytelling style that continues to surprise and inspire even the genre's most discerning fans. Having made his Sound Avenue debut in 2020 with a remix of Eric Lune's 'Embers', GMJ followed that up with a second remix project for the label in 2021, providing an organic take on Beije's 'Azimuth'. Now just over a year later GMJ returns to Sound Avenue with a previously unreleased take on 'Azimuth'. Aptly titled 'Introspective Mix' it's a version that carries the great thematic qualities of GMJ's main mix, but with a long balmy intro, fuzzed out musicality and greater atmospheric depth overall. A must for the more astute selectors out there.

Also making a welcome return to the label is Jayden Klight who provides a fresh take on Joe Miller's 'The Last of the Great Days'. The US artist made his first appearance on the Belgian imprint in September of 2020 with a remix of 'Pattern Lock' by Madloch and Subnode, before returning in 2021 his well received 'Click' EP and a remix of 'Into the Aura' by B.A.X. With recent offerings via Dream Culture, Proton Music and Seven Villas, Jayden now finds his way back to Sound Avenue with a spirited take on 'The Last of the Great Days'. Never one to be bound by genre or style, Jayden once again takes the road less travelled with a breakbeat version that carries all of the detail and idiosyncrasies which made the original so appealing, while allowing evolving, emotional and hypnotizing structures to work their magic.

Selection three finds Mundos Sutis making their label debut with the lone interpretation of 'So Long' by Pedro Capelossi. Based in Berlin the Mundos Sutis duo first emerged in 2020 and were quickly distinguished for their melodic, soulful and cosmic sound signature. With their first release coming courtesy of Pablo Bolivar's Seven Villas, the duo would find a comfortable home on the Spanish imprint, going on to appear on the label ten times across a prolific eighteen month stretch. Top tier DJ support soon followed with Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Tim Green all taking a liking to the duo's charming sounds. Now continuing on that upwards trajectory, Mundos Sutis add Sound Avenue to their resume with a whimsical take on 'So Long' by Pedro Capelossi. The duo's creativity basks in retro-radiance here as wavy arps and effervescent lines emerge from a bed of dulcet beats and exotic percussion arrangements.

Also making his label debut and providing the lone interpretation of Madloch's 'Circle' is Yudi Watanabe. Based in Brazil and firmly entrenched in the country's progressive music scene; the Campinas resident has found solid footing since first emerging almost a decade ago. Yudi's spirited creations have found a home on Beatfreak, Clubsonica Records, Freegrant Music and Transensations, while progressive house tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren have been supporters along the way. Having been a regular on label affiliates 3rd and Future Avenue, Yudi now makes his Sound Avenue debut with a powerful rendition of 'Circle' by label boss Madloch. Taking inspiration from the original's smooth hypnotic qualities, Yudi revamps the low-end with a progressive minded bassline, immediately giving the creation a new and more energetic headspace, while metallic arps, tension filled tones and clattering percussive arrangements push the narrative into peak time territory.

Rounding out the release with the lone interpretation of Eric Lune's 'Embers' is Ric Niels who returns to the label for his second appearance. Hailing from Argentina, Ric has enjoyed a steady rise since first emerging just over two years ago. His progressive sound has been a delight for both clubbers and headphone aficionado's alike, while the genre's premiere tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Guy J have championed his work along the way. Similarly, top tier labels such as Clubsonica, Deepwibe Underground, Mango Alley and The Soundgarden have served as landing spots for Ric's transcendent sound. Having made his Sound Avenue debut with a contribution to the label's popular 'Correlation' series in April, Ric now returns for his first remix, taking 'Embers' into deeper organic territory. Pitched somewhere comfortably between dreamy reverie and melodic bliss, it's a piece equally at home above an outdoor dance floor or sitting in the emotional sweet spot of an end of the night scenario. Captivating and poignant in equal measure, it caps off an excellent fourth installment of Sound Avenue's 'Re:Imagined', a series which continues to delight and impress fans across the electronic spectrum.
