Kenan Savrun – Ethereal [Eat My Hat Music]

The latest release from Ziger's Eat My Hat imprint welcomes Kenan Savrun back to the label for a new single. The Turkish artist made his debut on the Greek imprint in June of last year with the Beatport chart hit 'Shivaya'. Still widely regarded as Kenan's best work to date, it paved the way for further successes via 3rd Avenue, Movement Recordings and Soundteller Records. Now making a welcome return to Eat My Hat, Kenan presents his latest studio creation 'Ethereal', alongside remixes from Ziger and Mind Conspiracy.

Beginning with the Original Mix Kenan moves into darker territory with a punchy groove, charged rhythms and devilish stabs. Both foreboding and mysterious, it's flair for the dramatic grows as vocal fragments, devilish effects and vibrant arps lead to an expansive break. The narrative then shifts further into surreal territory, with a wave of effects and tasteful modulation uniting, before getting washed away into a sea of dark beats and rippling grooves.

The first interpretation of 'Ethereal' is provided by Ziger. The Eat My Hat label boss has enjoyed a year filled with banner productions. From his D-Formation collaboration to begin 2020, all the way through to chart topping remixes for Basil O'Glue, Juan Deminicis and DJ AroZe. Now returning to his comfortable home of Eat My Hat, Ziger dials in a powerful rendition of 'Ethereal'. Setting the piece in motion, a foundation of spongy beats, time stretched vocals and wavy rhythms merge for a wall of momentous energy. Flickering arps and fiery percussion complement the machine gun style groove, while piercing effects steal the air at timely moments. Tense yet haunting, the main break elevates mood, as the vocal overlays return for an otherworldly drop and exhilarating finale.

The second and final interpretation of 'Ethereal' is provided by Mind Conspiracy who returns to the label for his third appearance. Since making his Eat My Hat debut in March of this year, the Greek artist's peak time sound has flourished on the label, with a follow-up remix for Ziger's 'Still Here' landing in August. Now continuing to build on that momentum he rounds out the release with a deadly interpretation of 'Ethereal'. Backed by a tough, electric groove, the Greek artist's finely tuned percussion and crisp effects quickly appease the senses. Melodic fragments drift in and out of the framework across the first act, perfectly segueing into the main break. Emotive and hopeful, it's a poignant interlude, flowing through heartfelt chord changes, before a tasteful drop sparks a spirited final movement. An inspired remix from Mind Conspiracy which rounds out another must have release from Ziger's Eat My Hat Music.
