The latest release from Polyptych welcomes Cuprite back to the label for a new single. The Ukrainian artist first appeared on the Russian imprint in October of 2018 with the well received 'Solomiya' EP. 2019 then yielded the 'Sirens' EP along with key releases for Amber Blue Recordings and MOOFLY. Now returning for his first release of 2020, Cuprite presents 'Crimea' alongside remixes from Unique Repeat and Two Sins.

Beginning with the original mix Cuprite explores the melodic spectrum of progressive techno. On a bed of tough beats and fluid bass tones, comes finely tuned percussion and striking synth stabs. Smooth and uplifting, it’s the break which brings the greatest emotional response. Carefully constructed, it’s subtle arps and emotive chord changes quickly suck you in, before a classy crescendo initiates a strong finale.

The first interpretation is provided by Unique Repeat who make their label debut. The German duo are perhaps best known for their releases on Manual Music, Mango Alley and Parquet Recordings, where their unique take on melodic techno has flourished. Now making their much anticipated first appearance on Polyptych the Berlin residents craft a stunning rendition of 'Crimea'. Taking a cue from the original the duo re-imagine main the themes in a more direct and euphoric context. The main break is expansive and impactful, pushing the melodic narrative, while adding sweeping noise and low end swells, before melting down into a warm, pulsating groove and emotive finale.

The second and final interpretation of 'Crimea' is provided by Two Sins who returns to the label for his second appearance. The Russian artist lays claim to an impressive discography highlighted by releases on ICONYC and Lost on You. Having delivered his 'Alone In My Head' EP for Polyptych in November of 2018, Two Sins now returns to the label for his first remix. Smooth and groovy in equal measure, the Russian artist reprocesses the main elements into something far less distinct and more hypnotic. There’s a subtle tension sitting under those glowing arps and it’s this unique contrast which ultimately makes for such a great journey. A lovely remix from two Sins which rounds out a great offering from Polyptych. Don't miss it.
