Monograph – Embrace [Deepwibe Underground]

Continuing a prolific summer season, Deepwibe Underground welcomes Monograph back to the label with 'Embrace'. The cross continental duo have enjoyed a busy year thus far with two well received singles released in April and May. Now bringing their creative forces together once again, Monograph return to their comfortable home of Deepwibe Underground for a new single alongside remixes from Ge Bruny and Michon.

Beginning with the Original Mix, Monograph moves into deep, progressive territory with a warm rolling groove, lively rhythms and clusters of stunning effects. Hypnotic and mysterious, it’s dramatic flair rises with layers of percussion and buzzing stabs leading to a section of spaced out arps. Esoteric motifs continue to saturate your senses, perfectly setting up an interlude of cosmic meanderings, before smoothly segueing into a groovy, percussive finale.

The first interpretation of ‘Embrace’ is provided by Ge Bruny who returns to the label for his fourth appearance. The Brazilian artist first appeared in 2017 with releases on ICONYC and OLD SQL Recordings where his classic take on the progressive genre was well received. Fast forward three years and Ge has now added Or Two Strangers, Proton’s Particles and Soundteller Records to his discography. Now following a remix for Specific Music, Gr Bruny lands back on Deepwibe Underground with a groovy take on 'Embrace'. Setting the piece in motion is a bed of dulcet beats and rippling bass tones. Fragmented arps and fierce stabs create an ominous air as layers of percussion and timely effects flow through the framework. Devilish tones continue to bend the narrative across the main break, adding waves of tension, before a nostalgic drum roll cues a powerful drop.

The release concludes with Michon making his label debut and providing the second and final interpretation of ‘Embrace’. The Russian artist and Polyptych label boss is fresh off a string of remixes for Astrowave, BQ Recordings and Groove 9 which have made for a strong start to the year. Now entering 2020's third quarter Michon delivers a quality rendition of 'Embrace'. Anchored by a tight, compact groove, the Russian artist’s rhythmic drum work and quirky electronics build a strong cadence. Glowing arps and buzzing artifacts add nicely to it’s sleek storyboard, while piercing tones eventually steal the air with dynamic flair. Spanning over a minute in length, the interlude is tastefully tense, eventually melting down to the lead theme for a multitude of dramatic moments, before effortlessly shifting energy into a pulsating finale. Another inspired remix from Michon, which caps off an excellent offering from Deepwibe Underground once again. Don’t miss it.
