Max Blade – Reflections [Stellar Fountain]

Stellar Fountain enters the heart of the summer season by welcoming Max Blade back to the label for a new single. Having released his 'Moonlook' single in June, the Argentinean artist has also showcased his music on John Digweed’s Bedrock Records and Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden. 2020 has been a prolific year for the Sante Fe resident with releases for Massive Harmony, Soundteller Records and UY! Records all getting added to his discography. Now keeping that momentum going Max returns to Stellar Fountain with 'Reflections' alongside remixes from Fabri Lopez and Martin Andrioli.

Beginning with the original mix Max explores the groovy side of his progressive minded repertoire. Its warm, chunky foundation is perfectly sculpted, adorned with finely tuned percussion, luminous arps and hopeful tones. Moving into the main break an array of mind bending effects juxtaposes the hypnotic lead, creating a unique contrast of grit and shimmer, before eventually shifting energy into a driving finale

Fresh off remixes for Balkan Connection and Droid 9, the always excellent Fabri Lopez provides the first interpretation. Adding a tougher vibe, Fabri reshapes the groove into something much more rough and rugged, while utilizing a wide array of effects to advance the narrative. Drifting harmonics elevate mood as the main break commences, gently swirling on the surface as a surreal sounding build shifts energy into a minding bending final movement.

Rounding out the release and providing the second and final interpretation is Martin Andrioli. The Argentinean artist has collaborated with Max on their releases for Soundteller Records and Massive Harmony earlier this year. Now lending his solo remixing skills to Max's 'Reflections', Martin puts a dark, hypnotic twist on the track to close out the release. Its drive quickly becomes infectious, propelled by a lively percussive cadence and spiralling arps. Ominous pads sit off in the distance; elevating mood, tension and scope as it's powerful groove powers forward. A cavernous break sits at the heart of track, showcasing a metallic sounding arp as the beats drop for a big moment. A massive remix from Martin which caps off another great offering from Stellar Fountain. Don't miss it.
