Chris Cargo – Home [If You Wait]

Chris Cargo returns to his If You Wait imprint with a new single entitled 'Home'. We last heard from the Irish artist in March with his remix of Lucas Rossi's 'Labyrinth of Doubts' via Balkan Connection. Other 2020 highlights include an EP for Beat Boutique along with the 'Coyote' single which began the year. Now collaborating with vocalist Sarah Whittaker Gilbey, Chris presents a vocal piece to lead us into the summer season.

Long time progressive music fans will surely recognize the name Sarah Whittaker Gilbey as being one half of Mara and Choo Choo Records alongside her husband Barry Gilbey. Together the duo crafted some of the genre's defining tracks and showcased a wide assortment of cutting edge artists through their label. Having worked together recently on the 'Find You' single for UV, Chris and Sarah now come together once again for 'Home'. The cross pollination of Chris’s hypnotic and undeniably fluid framework, along with Sarah’s ghostly wails highlight the first act. Gorgeously interwoven melodies then shift energy into the main break where the full vocal gets unveiled. Haunting and highly emotive, Sarah's chops sound positively brilliant, making for a memorable moment before getting washed away in a wave of drums and arps as a glowing finale ensues. A stunning piece of music from Chris and Sarah, and for the less vocally inclined there is also an instrumental version included. Highly recommended.
