Antti Rasi – Liitäjä [Sound Avenue] The 84th release on Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint finds the label welcoming Antti Rasi back to the label for a brand new single. The Finnish artist last appeared on the Belgian imprint with a remix of 'Buen Dia' by Matias Vila which was released in December of last year. Now returning for a much anticipated follow up to his 'In My Dreams We Are Numb' EP Antti presents 'Liitäjä' alongside remixes from Speaking In Tongues, Matias Vila and BP. Long regarded as one of the most underappreciated talents in the underground Antti's unique sound shines once again on 'Liitäjä'. Beginning with a deep, organic and utterly engaging groove you're taken on a spellbinding eight minute journey. Astral effects and mallet-like motifs set a unique mood early before a cross-cultural vocal enlightens the senses. As it's wobbly groove grinds forward, scattered drums and frayed percussion add to its swing heavy appeal, before further variation on the vocal takes things into trippier territory, c Read More
Esensides – Brenda / Roses [Or Two Strangers] The eighth release on Antrim's Or Two Strangers imprint welcomes Esensides to the label for their debut EP. Greek artists Billy Alex & Vaggelis Tasoudis make up the Esensides production duo and began their collaborative project with a release on dPen’s The Last Of Us Music in 2015. Adding carefully to their discography the duo has now showcased their music on Praveen Achary's Juicebox imprint and PHW Elements, while earning continued support from Hernan Cattaneo in the process. Now making their much anticipated Or Two Strangers debut Esensides present their latest studio creations ‘Brenda’ and ‘Roses'. The duo's deep, progressive minded sound is on full display here, with the lead cut 'Brenda' striking a strong emotional chord. It's intricate and tightly knit framework is crafted to perfection with spacey effects and ethereal melodies converging for the ultimate sonic story. Chunky bass stabs carve out a shapely groove while smooth chord changes and indistinct vocals l Read More
Anton MAKe – Catcher Clouds [Steller Fountain] Anton MAKe returns to Stellar Fountain this week with a brand new single entitled 'Catcher Clouds'. The Russian artist had a strong 2016 with a release on Cid Inc's Replug Records and just recently remixed Lemon8 for Welcome Music. Now Anton follows up his 'Lost in Amsterdam' single from 2015 with the much anticipated 'Catcher Clouds' alongside remixes from Be Morais and Chris Drifter. The original mix comes with Anton's ultra tight and pristinely polished production as you would expect. Rooted with a tough, square kick and metallic percussion it sounds distinctly modern. Rough stabs add nicely to the rhythmic drive while delivering some quality character into the mix as well. The break brings sequenced chords before fading out into a swirling atmospheric wave, eventually trailing off into a classy drop. Lovely work from Anton. Love the remixer selections here, led by one of the underground's most underappreciated talents in Be Morais. The Brazilian artist and Not Another Read More
Onez!e – Colours [Superordinate Music] The latest release on Superordinate Music welcomes Onez!e to the label for a brand new EP. The Canadian artist is fresh off an EP for Zephyr Music along with a remix for Julian Rodriguez's Massive Harmony Records. Now making his much anticipated debut for Superordinate Onez!e presents his brand new 4 track EP entitled 'Colours'. It's pretty rare in the progressive house world to see a full artist style EP like this. Releases are generally reserved for a single + remixes or two track EPs it seems so this is really a great showcase of what a top producer Onez!e is. Beginning with the light, playful and wonderfully melodic 'Azure' you're off on a journey of dreamy, enchanting motifs. Crisp production, a strong rhythmic core and cascading melodies stand out immediately but it's the breathy vocal and waning synths that really make this track the emotional masterpiece that it is. 'Jasper' meanwhile brings an even stronger dance floor sensibility with a chunky groove, billowing bas Read More

Erdi Irmak – Return of the Wolf [ICONYC] John Johnson's ICONYC imprint returns after a one week hiatus by welcoming Erdi Irmak to the label for a brand new single. The Turkish artist has been a firm favourite in the progressive underground for some time. Key releases on Balkan Connection, Dopamine Music, MNL and Sound Avenue have all been sensational and his debut for ICONYC has been much anticipated. Beginning with the title and showcase piece 'Return of the Wolf' we see Erdi crafting another crossover bomb which has already been causing a stir amongst DJs. The design is quite unique with filtered acid stabs and bubbly electronics giving the piece a very aquatic feel. Overall it's quite round and the buzzing low end, although understated powers it nicely. The magic moment comes in a stripped down second act with dreamy pads and spooky, mallet-like motifs setting up a tactful build and big finale. Certainly one of Erdi's most unique productions to date. The release concludes with 'Ancestors' which is a much deeper Read More
Martin Kremser – Zama Zamas [KDB Records] The latest release on KDB Records welcomes Martin Kremser back to the label for a brand new single. The Austrian artist has been a primary contributor to the German imprint since his debut in April of 2015. Now making his ninth appearance Martin presents his latest single entitled 'Zama Zamas' alongside remixes from Dmitry Molosh and Arude. Also owning releases on Diynamic, Einmusika and Making You Dance, Martin's unique take on deep house is already much loved. With 'Zama Zamas' we find more of his quirky, melodic brilliance as spooky stabs and devilish electronics fill out a very groovy framework. Ethereal vocals come at timely, transitional moments while it's timeless top line carries much of tracks emotional resonance. First up on the remixes one of the progressive scenes brightest stars Dmitry Molosh makes his label debut in a big way. Notable releases on Replug Records and Sudbeat Music combined with consistent play and support from respective label owners Cid Inc and Read More
Nanofeel – Mars Remixes [Reelaux Digital] Reelaux Digital is back this week with new remixes of 'Mars' by Nanofeel. Originally released on the label's 'Coming Back to Life' VA collection in May of this year it saw the Hungarian artist crafting an old school gem which earned praise from the progressive house community. Now just over a month later we see the label inviting Traveltech and Chris Drifter to reinvent the track. First up Traveltech takes a more atmospheric approach all while maintaining the same driving energy. Drifting, ethereal and wonderfully open it's definitely a dubbier vibe but not the slightest bit less emotive. The swirling top lines, cascading motifs and rushes of noise all come together for some amazing moments, while a well constructed break adds just the right amount of tension for the dance floor. Veteran Chris Drifter closes the release out with a decidedly more stripped back interpretation which proves to be a great complement to both the original and Traveltech's remix. Tough and immacu Read More
Nikko.Z – Movement [Movement Recordings] The latest release on Tash's Movement Recordings welcomes Nikko.Z back to the label for a brand new EP. The Greek artist last appeared on the Greek imprint in October of 2016 with a contribution to the label's 'ADE Sampler'. In addition to releasing on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music Nikko also heads up the excellent Dopamine Music imprint. He continues to be one of his country’s top electronic music talents and now he returns to one of his original homes with a brand new EP appropriately entitled 'Movement'. Nikko has blurred the lines between progressive house, techno and deep house for many years and this unique fusion of styles has found favour with both Nick Warren and Hernan Cattaneo. 'Movement' comes in quite techno inspired with a dark, deliberate and driving groove. Hypnotic motifs, firing percussion and distinctive acid hooks converge for a deadly rhythmic core, leading nicely into a stripped down second act. Void of any major break, the tension runs on a cascading Read More
Sohrab G – Evening Glow [Soundteller Records] Sohrab G makes a much welcome return to Deersky's Soundteller Records this week with a brand new single entitled 'Evening Glow'. Hailing from Tehran, I first heard about Sohrab with a release on Madloch's 3rd Avenue imprint. Although little known at time there was a special feeling in the productions and now less than a year later he returns to Soundteller for a follow-up to his well received 'Take Me With You' EP. That progressive minded magic which was evident on Sohrab's Soundteller debut comes back in a big way on 'Evening Glow'. Clocking in at 120 BPM it's a deep and emotive delight with ethereal electronics and glassy harmonics leading the way. The panning vocals are an especially nice touch and make the break quite trippy while still emanating positive emotions. Two fine remixes also appear here with Soundteller regular Marcelo Paladini being the first. Listening to the original I can definitely see the thought process behind having the Argentine on board. He's gr Read More
