Collaborating for the first time the duo present 'Antia' and 'Nocturnal' alongside remixes from Paul Anthonee and Pat Siaz. Beginning with 'Antia' you get a sense of what a great meeting of the minds this project is. Clocking in at ten minutes it's an odyssey through astral arps, cosmic motifs and emotive soundscapes. Two breaks shift the narrative nicely with smooth rhythms and warm rushes carrying the journey to a dreamy third act finale. The companion piece 'Nocturnal' comes in darker, moody and equally brilliant. In keeping with the dreamy narrative the duo concoct an array of vibrant tones and mallet motifs over a smooth yet buzzing foundation. Metallic designs light up the a Read More

The Argentinean artist last appeared on the Colombian imprint with a remix of 'Analog' by Michael A from January of this year. Nicolas' unique melodic sound has become a favourite of many in the global progressive scene. Fuelled by warm beats, cosmic atmospheres and wispy vocals it tells a compelling story over the course of its nine minute journey. Split into two breaks, the second act proves to be the most poignant with delicate hypnotic qualities, frayed effects and luminous pads adding their own heartrending moments. Gorgeous music from Nicolas. The first interpretation of 'Amilur' is provided by Erdi Irmak. The Turkish artist last appeared on the Colombian imprint with a remix of Michael A's 'Analog' and has since Read More

Originally released courtesy of Proton's Particles imprint in September of 2015 it brought out the best in both artists, making for memorable, heavyweight collaboration. After a slow beginning to 2017 Yang has enjoyed a strong run of late with new music from Gai Barone, Janno Kekkonen, Cream and more. Now we see East Cafe returning to the label for his fourth appearance following a remix of Sapiens & Springa in May of this year. The Indian artist came on the scene in early in 2016 with releases on 3xA Music and Clinique Recordings. Now fresh of a remix for Julian Rodriguez's Massive Harmony Records Pranay makes his much anticipated Superordinate debut with 'Z40'. Well known for a blend of progressive and trance, Pranay's hybrid style certainly shines through on 'Mushu On Acid'. Beginning with a tough, driving groove and lively synths it's beaming with vibrant energy and positive vibes. Cascading motifs, playful acid lines and a string of timely builds make for a huge first act before stripping down into a massive break. Unabashedly epic, the centrepiece flows through choppy drum rolls before boiling over into a huge drop and blissful conclusion. The companion and title piece 'Z40' comes in a touch deeper perhaps but with the same progressive trance crossover potential. A chunkier foundation creates a lovely cadence Read More
Abity – End [Stellar Fountain] Long time Nick Warren favourites Abity return to Stellar Fountain this week with a brand new EP. We last heard from the Argentinean duo with a stunning two track offering for Deersky's Soundteller Records. Released in July, it was perhaps one of the summers most inspired EPs with distinctive, cosmic design and out of this work production details. Needless to say their return to Stellar Fountain is hugely anticipated and it includes three brand new productions. Beginning with 'Cube' we're immediately treated to some interesting design and programming. Crisp, detailed and somewhat unconventional percussion stands out along with granular dust which loops in and out of the framework. An alien-like arp eventually enters the picture and flows through some inspired modulation, ultimately carrying the track into the break. The centrepiece is a tension filled masterpiece with frayed rolls setting the foundation, increasing in intensity ever so slightly as the arp keeps the rhythmic feel of Read More

The Spanish artist has a meticulous discography with appearances on Toolroom, YoshiToshi, Glasgow Underground and GU Music. Solarc's distinctive take on tech house has earned praise from all corners of the industry, leading to regular gigs not only in his Spanish homeland but all around the globe. Now Solarc presents his long awaited debut for Balkan Connection alongside remixes from Santiago Garcia and Criss Source. The title and showcase piece 'Wicked Game' comes in warped and wobbly in all the right ways. A character rich and well sculpted groove brings immense swing as meticulous percussion and acidic rhythms drive momentum forward. Fresh vocal elements combined with vibrant tones lead nicely into the break where the vocal narrative gets further explored, ultimately setting up a powerful, yet classy build and big drop. The companion piece 'Storytellers' brings more funk with a spacious Read More
Holland – Mazel Tov [Soundteller Records] Deersky's Soundteller Records continues on a strong run of releases with Holland making his label debut this week. The Polish imprint has continued to deliver top shelf progressive house as the summer has unfolded and now welcomes a burgeoning new talent to the label in Holland. The Bosnian artist began his career in 2012 and has most notably appeared on Suffused Music's subdivision Cloudy Moon Records. Stepping up to Soundteller is a massive moment and he's delivered with two excellent cuts. Beginning with the title track 'Mazel Tov', Holland explores tough beats and dark motifs for a very trippy and monumentally engaging storyboard. It's got to be one of Soundteller's darkest signings yet and I applaud them for that. A lot of labels tend to get stuck in a rut of trying to deliver the same feeling or emotion over and over again so it's great to see a range of moods over the course of releases like Soundteller has. The companion piece 'Shamal' follows suit with sinister moods Read More
Lucas Rossi – Retrospective [Golden Wings Music] Golden Wings Music returns for its second release of the year by welcoming Lucas Rossi back to the label. Now making a much anticipated return Lucas presents his latest EP entitled 'Retrospective'. It's been a fruitful year for Lucas, who has seen his music showcased on Balkan Connection, ICONYC, Northern Lights and Stellar Fountain. For his debut EP on Golden Wings he presents two of his most cutting edge productions to date, beginning with 'Retrospective'. From its deep, hypnotic intro the piece builds with mountainous bass swells, clattering percussion and spaced out arps. Wispy pads carry nicely into the break, before catchy vocal edits and clusters of snares bring tension and a dynamic drop. The companion piece 'Wonderland' comes in a touch deeper and equally charming. Bubbly melodies, grainy percussion and tantalizing t Read More
