Musique de Lune Noire opens 2024's fourth quarter by presenting new interpretations of Aubrey Fry's 'Like A Crime'. With signings to Sasha's Last Night On Earth, John Digweed's Bedrock Records, and Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, Aubrey's sonic creations have captivated audiences across the globe, from the streets of Miami to the neon-lit alleys of Tokyo. Beyond his accolades as an electronic music producer, Aubrey's prowess extends to his electrifying DJ sets, where he takes listeners on a journey through the depths of sound. Sharing stages with legends like Dave Clarke, Guy J, Jody Wisternoff and John Digweed, Aubrey's sets are a masterclass in diversity, effortlessly traversing a multitude of genres with finesse and flair. With 2023 being highlighted by his latest vehicle for Bedrock Records, the well-received three-track showcase 'Riser', Aubrey began his 2024 release schedule with 'Like A Crime', his debut for Musique de Lune's Noire division. Beloved for it's catchy vocal and Indie Dance framework, the label now invites Nick Stoynoff, Paul (AR) and Nepotek to re-imagine the track in their own unique essence.

Already in the sets of Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, it is Nick Stoynoff's remix which leads the release off. Now considered a veteran of the scene with releases via Mango Alley, Sudbeat and his own NOFF! imprint, Chicago resident Nick Stoynoff does a masterful job here, putting a progressive twist on the track with a hugely memorable bassline and a marvelous array of orbiting effects. The most amazing thing perhaps is Nick has managed to maintain Original's hook heavy appeal, with timely use of the vocal and a supremely catchy framework.

Moving forward, Paul (AR) makes his label debut fresh off an appearance on John Digweed's 'Live in Stereo' collection. With over thirty years as a DJ and producer, the Buenos Aires resident has the distinction of being one of the progressive scene's longest running artists. Choosey in his projects, Paul continues to add quality offerings to his discography which is highlighted by releases via Balance, Mango Alley, Perfecto, Selador and TRYBESof. Now landing on Musique de Lune's Noire division, Paul reshapes 'Like A Crime' into a deep percussive roller, complete with a delicate lead motif, hopeful pads and a healthy complement of organic drums to drive those late night dancefloors.

The release concludes with Nepotek making his label debut with the third and final interpretation of 'Like A Crime'. Based in Japan, the Plus Future Records boss adds further depth and quality to the release with a stripped back rendition highlighted by moody chord stabs, flurries of claps and a rising feel of tension throughout, making it an ideal early or mid-set tool for your arsenal. Fresh and creative, it rounds out an excellent remix edition for Aubrey Fry's 'Like A Crime' on a strong note. Highly recommended.
