The latest release from Deepwibe Underground welcomes The Cobb back to the label for a new single. Andrei Yakovlev aka The Cobb hails from Saint Petersburg, Russia where he has spent the better part of a decade as part of the cities nightlife. As a resident DJ at the legendary Warrp Club, Andrei has delighted crowds with his exquisite programming skills and blend of melodic house and techno. His first official release came in September of this year via Deepwibe Underground. The three track offering earned support from Guy J and Sasha, making The Cobb a rising talent to watch. Now making a welcome return to the label he presents a new single entitled 'Pain Reliever', alongside remixes from AMPISH and Katrin Souza.

Beginning with the Original Mix The Cobb dives into the pure progressive side of his repertoire. It’s tepid beats and well contoured groove carry a large presence, while rhythmic waves and astral sonics advance the narrative. As momentum builds, delayed claps and wintry tones add a distinctive mood leading into the break. Full of drama and atmosphere, the centrepiece builds smoothly through timely modulation and percussive flurries, before a timely rush summons the groove for a mystical finale.

Solomun favourite AMPISH returns to the label and provides the first interpretation of 'Pain Reliever'. The French/Egyptian artist first appeared on the Estonian imprint in April of this year with a well received remix of 'Baltic Pearl' by Monograph & Teleport-X. Now in a year highlighted with releases via Balkan Connection, Eklektisch, Songspire and his own Sidra imprint, AMPISH returns to Deepwibe Underground with a powerful take on 'Pain Reliever'. Backed by a warm, rolling groove AMPISH's distinctive rhythms and fiery percussive fills quickly appease the senses. Cosmic arps add an emotional lean to the narrative, while smooth chord changes flow through the foundation as the second of two breaks resets the groove for a rousing conclusion.

Rounding out the release and providing the second interpretation of 'Pain Reliever' is Katrin Souza who makes her label debut. The Russian artist has been a fixture of the progressive music underground for nearly a decade and has showcased her music via Droid9, Silk Digital, Intricate Records, Saturate Audio, Freegrant and Manual Music. Now making a welcome first appearance on Deepwibe Underground, Katrin provides a peak time interpretation of 'Pain Reliever'. Engaging from the outset, its warm framework is crafted to perfection with smooth rhythms and hypnotic arps converging for a gorgeous free form story. Quirky melodies and soulful wails lift the mood higher across the first act, building momentum into the second of two breaks. Perfectly timed, the track’s second interlude is tasteful trippy, as astral effects melt down against a wave of bass as the groove drops for a purring finale. A brilliant remix from Katrin which rounds out another must have release from Deepwibe Underground. A label who continues to build momentum as 2021 approaches. Highly recommended.
