Mitch Oliver makes his Magician On Duty debut with 'Littoral'. Hailing from Montreal, the Canadian artist first appeared in February of this year with a contribution to the Inward Records 'Dusk' Sampler. Now with forthcoming music signed to Akbal, Mitch makes his Magician On Duty debut with a new two track artist EP.

The punchy beats and meandering piano motifs of 'Littoral' set the tone for the EP. Sparse yet warm, it's roomy framework breathes wonderfully and the unpredictably of the musical elements ultimately makes for an eventful yet tranquil journey. The drop and subsequent final act really shine with it's laid back musical drawl sucking you in even more.

The companion piece 'Summa' follows a similar sonic ethos but with a less distinct narrative. Subtle harmonic phrasing overlays exotic drums and muted piano clusters for a gorgeous first act. The mood shifts during the main break with a more direct piano theme taking centrestage. A touch wonky yet undeniably beautiful it acts as a musical bridge into a final act of mallet-like tones and aquatic effects. Gorgeous work from Mitch who has certainly made his Magician On Duty debut a memorable one. Don't miss it.
