Mind Conspiracy – Metaphor [Eat My Hat Music]

Ziger's Eat My Hat Music rounds out the month of October with a new EP from label stalwart Mind Conspiracy. As one of Eat My Hat's core contributors, Greek artist Mind Conspiracy has emerged as premiere talent within the melodic house and techno landscape. Coming off a strong 2022 which yielded seven originals and two remixes, Mind Conspiracy began the year with his latest Eat My Hat vehicle 'Rock Solid', a two-track showcase which saw the Athens resident continue to find a perfect balance between melodic and progressive house. Choosy in his projects across the remainder of the year, it was June which marked a return to Eat My Hat with a remix of Axel Giova's 'Proton'; a production which flexed a deeper side of Mind Conspiracy's repertoire. Now, as we enter the year's final quarter, the Greek artist makes a welcome return to Eat My Hat with a thunderous two-track showcase entitled 'Metafora'.

Superficially, 'Metafora' might come across as a classic peak-time dance floor tool, but it exists in a markedly different sonic world, as Mind Conspiracy crafts a narrative which is equal parts dramatic and cosmic. Dark rebounding rhythms, buzzing synths and devilish stabs unite for a prophetic storyboard, while a foundation of muscular beats and chugging grooves translate an astral message to the dancefloor. Void of any primary break, it's a short interlude which ultimately shifts mood into a hypnotic hinterland, one where orbiting effects and glassy arps cleverly coax for a meditative finale.

Rounding out the release is 'Time' which further cements Mind Conspiracy's dancefloor minded ethos. Beginning with a stripped yet punchy groove, the piece evolves with chirpy stabs, squelchy effects and rolling percussion carrying into the main break. Melodic fragments and acid-like lines provide a mind-bending peak as centrepiece commences, tactfully building tension as twisted lines percolate towards a striking drop and ultrasonic conclusion to cap off the release on a high note.
