Releases Marcelo Paladini – Laos [One Of A Kind] By Release Promo Posted on 2nd September 2017 0 second read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin Jelly For The Babies & Bonaca's One Of A Kind imprint returns this week by welcoming Marcelo Paladini back to the label for a new single. The Argentinean artist last appeared on the cross continental label in October of 2016 with his 'Blindness' single. Marcelo's recent releases on Soundteller Records and Northern Lights have been sensational, earning support from Hernan Cattaneo and Sasha. Now making a much anticipated return to One Of A Kind Marcelo presents 'Laos' alongside remixes from Desaturate and Christopher Ivor. The Argentinean artist has been noted for his warm, melodious creations but 'Laos' is a bit left of centre. Perhaps a touch more melancholic than some of his past work but with the same progressive sensibility. The piece comes with his trademark fluidity and polished production which makes for a smooth seven minute journey. What's most compelling is the main break and third act transition, incredibly well crafted and with a beefed up rhythmic core to boot. Great stuff from Marcelo. Always making astute remixer choices One Of A Kind invites Desaturate and Christopher Ivor to rework the piece. First up Desaturate makes his second appearance on the label following his 'Ulenspiegel' collaboration with Chamae and Mobo from January of this year. Known for injecting energy and drive into many a remix Desaturate does exactly that here with a rolling groove and stellar hypnotic elements. The main themes and overall vibe of the original get conveyed quite well but the added toughness and concise storyboard makes it a dance floor killer. The release concludes with Christopher Ivor making his label debut following strong releases on A Must Have, Chapter 24 and Dear Deer. His take on 'Laos' is quite excellent and my favourite on the release as well. It's stripped back vibe, subtle musicality and indistinct effects storyboard are very compelling. Looping vocals add a lovely touch leading into a more emotive second act with chord changes and subtle harmonic shifts hitting the spot. Lovely remix from Christoper and another strong offering from One Of A Kind.
