When did you start producing music - and what or who were your early passions and influences? What seduced you most about techno, clubbing music and electronic sounds? I started around 16 years ago. By that time, my biggest hobby was already DJing but I felt that I needed to express myself deeper and started to produce. I haven’t stopped since then. My interest on electronic music began listening radio shows and Music shows on TV. But when I really felt in love with this was the first time I visited a club and watched a performance live. Ramiro is back now on Suara’s imprint with “Sweating”. With the record label as a base, how would you define your Read More

Hi Alexis, how are you? Autumn is here – are you someone who likes this season? Does it affect the music you make? At the moment I am not doing so well, having some long time health issues. But the season is fine, not to cold, so ok for me. You have a new EP 'One Eye On The Past One On The Future' (Part 04) out now on Lessismore, tell us about how these three tracks came together for the release and walk us through the production on your favourite from the EP. The first thing to say is that the “One Eye On The Past One On The Future” is a Serie concept with a theme, like the title suggest. So it should combine these factors. This weekend I had some family stuff and a little time planned in the studio. Tell us a bit about yourself, where are you from, how did you discover electronic music and what led you down the path of wanting to be a DJ and producer? I'm from the South of Holland but with roots from South America. But at the moment I spend more time in Belgium. I think I was brainwashed into being an dj. It began when I was very young and the music from the room beside me was pounding so loud, my Spice Girls could not handle it. In that moment, no girl power☹. The music that was pounding was very loud and aggressive, it was hardcore/gabber music. At that time in my life I hated electronic music because it was always playing in the house I lived. And my speakers in my round could not compete, although I tried. The music from that room chan Read More

Tell us a bit about yourself, how did you discover electronic music and what led you down the path of wanting to be a producer? Hey I’m Dirk Kanters, born in 1978 and raised in a town near Eindhoven, the Netherlands. My parents would always be listening to music when I was younger so, growing up I was influenced by a lot of different artist. When I started to develop my own taste of music I mainly listened to rock, grunge, blues and alternative. That changed when I went to a drum and bass party somewhere around the mid 90’s. My love for electronic music was born. I love to feel the atmosphere of the crowd, the pounding bassline, the dense air. So, I borrowed a Roland 303 drum computer from a friend and started producing, soon after that I bought my own equipment and I have not stopped producing ever since. Wh Read More
