Based in Cordoba, the Argentinean duo have been one of the labels primary acts since making their debut in October of 2016. A constant in the sets of Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, Analog Jungs also lay claim to releases on Balkan Connection and Hope Recordings. Now making a welcome return to Or Two Strangers the duo present their most ambitious project to date alongside remixes from Tripswitch, Nicolas Rada and Antrim. Known for their sonic versatility, Analog Jungs are equally adept at crafting deep, enchanting creations as they are peak time melodic bombs. ‘Universe’ sits closer to the former with its poignant tones, fluid percussion and heavenly atmospheres. Resonating on a heartfelt frequency, it’s a nine minute journey of free flowing harmonics, charming effects and textural bliss; ultimately highlighted by a second act of soulful strums, before smoothly shifting energy into a glowing finale. The companion piece ‘Particle’ carries a similar design profile to its predecessor. Brilliantly produced, it’s luminous melodies and blissful arps play off a warm, enticing foundation. Reflective in tone, it’s emotive prowess is undeniable, with delicate melodic clusters and pulsating rhythms intertwining for a powerful first act. Ever evolving, the narrative shifts as luminous overlays descend over the framework for contemplative moments, before dusty plucks transfer energy into a radiant break and gorgeous conclusion. The first interpretation of ‘Particle’ is provided by Tripswitch who is making his label debut. UK artist Nick Brennan aka Tripswitch has a rich history in electronic music. His fifteen year career has been highlighted by appearances on Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music and Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden. His crossover style has also found a home on leading European label Iboga Records, where he has appeared twenty times. Now making his Or Two Strangers debut, Tripswitch delivers a stunning rework of ‘Particle’. Beginning with a warm, rolling groove the piece moves with discernible momentum, as layers of drums and rolling rhythms converge for a hip swinging groove. Cascading tones and wispy atmospheres flow beautifully into an emotive centrepiece, as fragmented vocals and poignant pianos lead to a timeless, musically inspired finale. The second and final interpretation of ‘Particle’ is provided by Nicolas Rada who also makes his label debut. The Argentinean artist is coming off an incredible year where he became a frequent studio partner to legendary Dj Nick Warren. Together the duo delivered some of the year’s most beloved tracks. Everything from their ‘Land Of Dreams’ three piece showcase to remixes for Days Like Nights and Manjumasi were exceptional. Nicolas’ solo efforts yielded equally stunning results, with the creative artist giving us one of the year's best bootleg remixes in Bjork’s ‘Mutual Core’, along with releases on MNL, Proton’s Particles and Reworck. Now following a release on DJ Zombi’s Beat Boutique to begin the year, Nicolas debuts on Or Two Strangers with a gorgeous interpretation of 'Particle'. Sitting as a lovely complement to the original and Tripswitch’s remix, Nicolas goes into dreamy yet percussive territory for a warm and incredibly groovy interpretation. The main themes carry a creamier texture, perfectly complemented with dulcet tones, cutting through melodic clouds and effervescent drifts, before reaching a heavenly apex following a brilliantly composed break. The release concludes with Antrim providing the lone interpretation of ‘Universe’. The Cordoba resident had a successful 2018 with continued support from progressive music’s long standing guard in Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. Key releases on Beat Boutique and Sudbeat Music led to chart success throughout the year, making the Argentine one of the scenes most sought after artists. Now following his much loved collaboration with Brazilian vocalist Sarah Chilanti to begin the year, Antrim returns to his home imprint with a stunning rendition of ‘Universe’. Always a creative remixer, Antrim has reshaped the groove into a funkier yet still free flowing wave of key changing bass. Throughout a storyboard of dreamy euphoria the main theme translates incredibly well, evocative across the first act before fully saturating your senses as the main break peaks, ushering in a groovy finale. A superb remix from Antrim which rounds out an intriguing EP from Analog Jungs, who continue to explore the deeper, dreamier side of their sonic palette with inspired results.
