Leandro Moyano aka After Burn first emerged a decade ago as part of the Some Little Things production duo. Rising up through Argentina’s progressive house scene, Some Little Things would record projects for 3rd Avenue, Beat Boutique and Movement Recordings, amongst others. 2017 would see Leandro coin his After Burn alias and move forward with a renewed focus and fresh sound, with the moniker making its debut via Or Two Strangers in October of that year with ‘La Mandolina’. The next half decade would see After Burn make a return to Or Two Strangers with a contribution to the label’s popular ‘Strangers’ compilation series, along with impressive appearances for Hoomidaas and Movement Recordings. Now, following a three-year hiatus, After Burn makes a much-anticipated return with a two-track showcase entitled ‘Wrong Altitude’. Beginning with the title selection After Burn finds a perfect balance between cutting edge design and dancefloor dynamics. Full of groovy qualities, the Cordoba resident expertly blends punchy kick drums and swing heavy rhythms, with striking stabs and a strong effects narrative, resulting in a smooth rush of energy leading into the break. Further revealing his creative attitude across the interlude, After Burn adds a healthy dose of tension through offset stabs and phasing textures, before a wave of percolating noise cues a strong drop and exhilarating finale. Rounding out the release and complementing its predecessor perfectly are the cosmic vibes of ‘RMXT'. After Burn continues to impress in his return here, with a seven-minute journey of strong club-effective qualities. Fragmented vocals and hook-heavy chord stabs steal the air, cleverly coaxed with a colourful blend of pyrotechnic effects and deconstructed sonics, while a final break of controlled chaos preludes a massive final act.
