Releases Dustin Nantais – Last Legs [Manual Music] By Release Promo Posted on 13th July 2018 0 second read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin Dustin Nantais returns to Paul Hazendonk’s Manual Music this week with a new EP entitled ‘Last Legs’. The Canadian artist has been a mainstay on the Dutch imprint since making his debut in July of 2014. 2018 has seen an impressive string of releases courtesy of Magician On Duty, Where The Heart Is and Manual affiliates 90watts and Cinematique. Now making a much anticipated return to Manual Music, Dustin presents his two latest studio creations alongside remixes from Emi Galvin and Matan Caspi. For the majority of 2018 Dustin has focused on deeper material but his return to Manual sees more progressive minded affairs. Beginning with the title piece ‘Last Legs’ we get a great example of what the Canadian artist does best and that’s create groovy, melodic dance floor bombs with a very high feel good factor. Led by massive synths and a sparkling arp, euphoric would be an apt description. Dustin has always had a way with infectious grooves and this one just screams peak time bomb, add to that a perfectly crafted break with just the right amount tension and you’ve got an A+ lead track. The companion piece ‘The More You Do’ is a slightly deeper construction with the tempo shifting down a touch. It’s no less euphoric though as once again the Canadian lays out gorgeous melodic motifs, a wonderfully warped bassline and a goosebump worthy break. Stellar stuff from Dustin. The lone interpretation of ‘Last Legs’ is provided by Emi Galvin who returns to the label for his second appearance. Emi picks his projects wisely and 2018 has been highlighted by a contribution to the Sudbeat Showcrates collection courtesy of Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music. Now presenting just his second remix of year Emi provides a pure progressive take on ‘Last Legs’. The epic factor from the original gets toned down a touch, letting rhythm and groove carry the piece, with a strummy break providing all the emotive magic you could possibly want. A superb complement to the original by Emi. The release concludes with Matan Caspi making his label debut and providing the lone interpretation of ‘The More You Do. The Israeli artist has been a mainstay of the electronic music underground for more than a decade. Releases on Global Underground, Deeperfect, Movement Recordings and Spinnin highlight his discography. More recently Matan has been dominating Beatport’s Progressive House charts with a string of outings on his Outta Limits imprints. His Manual Music debut has turned out wonderfully as he closes the release out with an amazing interpretation of ‘The More You Do’. Rippling waves of bass and club friendly percussion set the piece in motion as buzzing synths initiate the full groove. Astral effects cut through the atmosphere before a catchy lead theme brings the house down during the main break. This one is epic and perfect for a peak time dance floor. Massive remix from Matan which rounds out a very large release for Paul Hazendonk’s Manual Music. Highly Recommended.
