Juicebox Music's 80th release welcomes back ALURIA to the label with a special 2-track EP, featuring Mangos and Avocados & Lunchbox, alongside DNYO & Greenage remixes. Juan Correa Lopez introduced his ALURIA alias in 2016 to create boundary-less electronic music, breaking the mould of tradition and striving for exploring the different. The Merlo (Buenos Aires, Argentina) born artist, and now currently based in Brooklyn (New York, USA), made appearances on many reputable imprints from the likes of Manual Music, Stripped Recordings & One of a Kind, to name a few. ALURIA made his debut on Juicebox Music in 2023 through the first edition of our Fables compilation with his single Precession and now he returns with two weapons: Mangos and Avocados, a deep & dubby yet heavy & twisted concoction and Lunchbox, a minimal & simple yet peak & wonky banger.

To celebrate the release of his Juicebox Music EP, ALURIA has curated 10 tracks which influenced the lead selection 'Mangos and Avocados'. Enjoy!

Here are 10 tracks that influenced me in the course of time to create Mangos and Avocados:

Moonbeam - Mosquito Land

Timeless classic, a fan of Moonbeam as many would say the same, it’s one of the biggest influences in my style of plucks and quirky sounds in progressive house music.

Hiroshi Watanabe - The Strength In Life

A significant amount of appreciation for Hiroshi even since Ive discovered his music, perfect example of live deep and uplifting contemporary techno. Mixing is just impeccable.

Shmuel Flash, Choopie - Chilling Moments (GMJ & Matter Remix)

The more I listen to this the more I get chills, a new skool example of quality progressive house music. The ground impact here is a perfect reference for the dance floor.

Aman Anand & ALURIA - Stop The Silence (Original Mix)

This gem has a special place in my heart for many reasons, motivation, distance from family only brings nostalgia into my life, collaborating with Aman on “Stop The Silence” screams a message of oneness we looked for at the time. Kind of feels full circle.

Dousk & Jorgio Kioris - Ozaki 8 (Kamilo Sanclemente & Golan Zocher Remix)

One of my favorite ethereal tunes from Juicebox Music, the sound in this production gives me flashbacks of other classics like Cocoon - Moonbeam in the overall tone.

Michael A - Subflow

One of my favorite artists in the scene and intricate with the compression trend and dynamics, his label Genesis is home to my single Utica Vimana.

Burial - UK

Just simple tone and sampling techniques evaluating a current mood, that is what I feel when I listen to William, his music, spatial sound bites are some of the best in the market for me to be inspired by on a daily basis.

Popof - High & Down

Down and under bassline with this classic always comes to mind when jumping into the studio, I love simplicity now more than ever, it wasn’t always this way.

Guy J - Fallstar (Rising Mix)

It’s important for me to state a certain color to my sound, and I give Guy J the benefit of the doubt, he has a strong influence in my groove theory, slow float, his very own language.

Synkro - Lost For Words

Overall I listen to a lot of ambient, dub, hardcore metal, and even IDM daily. It’s what keeps me inspired, rotation, also by exploring other genres both for listening pleasure and creative outlets. Feels like a corridor for me poetically inwards to reflect personal feelings through this song for a while now, make me happy to share this with you.
