Danny Avila – Notre Dame [1605]

1605 is a highly respected techno record label run by UMEK and the label’s most recent offering is a peak time release by Spanish artist Danny Avila.

Danny Avila is a name who to some will need little introduction, as he has already carved out a successful DJ career. Regularly travelling the world to headline massive events, Danny Avila had first rose to fame with big room tracks on labels like Armada and Sony.

An extremely talented DJ known for his charismatic style full of tricks and effects builds, Danny Avila is now showing us the tougher side of his sound. He already hosts a radio show called Mainstage Techno and his new release on 1605 is in that same hard-hitting style.

There is only one original track on the release, plus a remix by the talented Amazingblaze who has previously featured music on Charlotte de Witte's record label, KNTXT.

“Notre Dame” is the original track on the release and it’s underpinned by a pulsating bassline and punchy kick drum that’s overlaid by flutters of euphoric synths that build in intricacy during the breakdown.

The remix by Amazingblaze closes out the release by boosting the tempo to create a harder version that has thrashing high-end percussion. He creates a new bassline and adds a breakbeat loop to the breakdown in order to make the track his own.
