Audiotones – Around The World [Magician On Duty]

Audiotones make a welcome return to Magician On Duty for their debut EP 'Around The World'. Hailing from Russia and Germany the duo made their first appearance on the US imprint in October with a contribution to the label's 3 year anniversary collection. Also laying claim to 2019 releases on Sag & Tre, Audiotones now land back on Magician On Duty with a three track artist showcase.

The transcendent sounds of nature open the EP and it's title track. Sitting as a perfect backdrop, the duo create a smooth blend of organic beats, exotic drums and a tasteful vocal narrative. Subtle shades and tones converge for moments of sonic bliss, while cascading themes sweep across the framework at timely moments. A symphonic lead soon descends over the groove, perfectly setting up a tranquil break and classy finale. Perhaps getting the most attention from DJs pre-releases has been the second selection 'Amon Ra'. Immediately captivating, it’s creamy tones and rolling percussion play off a sultry low end, making for an irresistible, hip swinging groove. Plucked motifs add rich musicality while angelic vocal pads add further depth and emotion. The release concludes with the reflective vibes of 'Mahaon' which appropriately leaves you wanting more. Beginning with meandering tones, the energy comes down a touch while layers of beats and drums build in organic space. Gentle swells and fragmented instrumentation bring amazing moments across the first act, eventually coming to full fruition during the main break before a wondrous finale ensues. Groovy and emotive in equal measure it rounds out a stunning collection of music from Audiotones, who are most certainly an act for fans of organic house to keep a close eye on. Highly recommended.
