Various Artists – Magnified Pt. 1 [Magnitude Recordings]

Francesco Pico's Magnitude Recordings presents the first installment of their 'Magnified' series. These various artists EP collections look to give new talent a platform to showcase their music alongside like minded artists, while furthering the labels progressive minded umbrella. Just 11 months into their return, Magnitude has developed into a desired destination for many producers, already playing host to some of the genre's finest in Chris Cargo, Cream & Deep Fog, EANP, Golan Zocher, Kasper Koman, Pole Folder and Namatjira. Now unveiling the inaugural edition of 'Magnified' the label invites Blackloud & Serhan Guney, Pablo German and Ryan to kick the series off.

Leading the release off is Blackloud & Serhan Guney with 'Particular'. Based in Prague the duo are fresh off an EP for D-Formation's Beatfreak Limited imprint while Serhan also lays claim to releases on Dear Deer and Diynamic. Sitting comfortably in the creative space between progressive house and techno the duo craft an arp driven journey into the cosmos with 'Particular'. Pristine production combined with smooth storyboarding and a flair for the dramatic make this an astral creation to send your dance floor home happy.

Next up and no stranger to the Manual Music family is Pablo German who already owns releases on Manual and MNL. Now debuting on Magnitude, the Argentinean artist presents his latest studio creation 'Destino'. Beginning with powerful beats and exotic drums, it’s momentous drive is immediately infectious. Warm bass swells and atmospheric drifts flow through smooth chord changes, leading nicely to an emotive break. Concise at just around a minute in length, it’s a charming interlude of lively electronics and airy refrains, perfectly building anticipation towards a groovy, percussive finale.

The release concludes with Ryan also making his label debut following releases on SMR Underground and Welcome! Records. The Argentinean artist shows his affinity for the pure progressive sound with 'Strong Ant'. Beginning with a warm, chugging groove and hopeful atmospheres it’s an exhilarating seven minute journey. Incredibly dreamy yet still engaging from a rhythmic perspective, it provides a wistful charm, particularly during a well crafted break which perfectly segues into a chugging, energetic finale. It rounds out what is an auspicious beginning for the 'Magnified' series, that will now serve as a landing spot for many new talents on the label going forward.
