Sajith Prakash – Bolivian Diary [Eat My Hat Music]

The latest release from Ziger's Eat My Hat Music welcomes Sajith Prakash to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from India, Sajith has been a recognized DJ in his country's nightlife for over a decade. Having made his production debut exactly one year ago, the Bangalore resident has already landed releases on some of progressive music's top imprints, most notably Droid9 and Soundteller Records. Now continuing that momentum Sajith lands on Eat My Hat with 'Bolivian Diary'.

Beginning with the title selection Sajith explores traditional progressive house sensibilities. Tough yet warm, a well contoured groove sets the piece in motion as rolling rhythms and striking percussion adds swing to the framework. Filtered effects, dulcet tones and wavy atmospheres unite for heartfelt moments as the first act unfolds, before melting down into the main break. Tastefully tranquil, the centerpiece heightens emotion with glowing swells and spirited nature motifs, as a gentle rush of noise sparks a timely drop for a thunderous finale.

The second and final selection 'Quest for Peace' comes in harder and darker, while following an equally enticing storyboard. Once again backed by a muscular groove, it's a combination of electric rhythms, devilish arps and cross-cultural motifs which slowly saturate your senses. Coming to full fruition during the main break, percussive flurries build tension atop a bed of sizzling electronics, creating an air of anticipation as the charged groove powers forward to an epic conclusion. It rounds out a stunning two track offering from Sajith Prakash, who makes an excellent Eat My Hat debut here.
