MacIntyre’s SLC-6 Music presents a remix release of Redspace and ISMAIL.M's 'Yoma.' Hailing from Russia and Bulgaria respectively, both Redspace and ISMAIL.M have made their mark on the electronic underground through their successful solo productions. With a tight, crunchy progressive style that’s aimed squarely at the dancefloor, the duo have compiled impressive resumes, highlighted by releases via Juicebox Music, Mango Alley, Transensations and Univack, while world class DJs Black Coffee, Dubfire, John Digweed, Mind Against and more have been supporters along the way. Also operating as occasional studio partners, Redspace and ISMAIL.M. have combined their creative powers for RKP, Traful, WARPP and Yomo Records, amongst others. Building upon their production partnership for SLC-6 Music, the duo offer up ‘Yoma’, alongside remixes from Kenan Savrun & Sinan Arsan, VoidShift & Noise Generation and SOUL ALT DELETE. The Original Mix finds the duo masterfully synthesizing their talents into a club-effective cut that’s perfectly dialled for the dancefloor. Tough chugging grooves and driving percussion lay the foundation for cross-cultural vocals, ethnic instrumentation and striking effects to carry what is an engaging progressive journey. Hailing from Turkey and providing the first remix are Kenan Savrun & Sinan Arsan. With a joint discography boasting releases via Juicebox Music, RKP, Transensations and Univack, the veterans put a trippy twist on ‘Yoma’ with great success, making innovative use of the original elements for a deconstructed late night driver. Occasional studio partners VoidShift and Noise Generation provide the second interpretation of ‘Yoma’ following projects for Freegrant Music and Moussaieff Records. The Sri Lankan duo cleverly coax shapeshifting synths and prophetic effects which set the pace, reverberating against pummelling beats and lively percussive arrangements, as interwoven melodies meander forward for further sonic manipulation. The release concludes with SOUL ALT DELETE returning to the label for the third and final interpretation of ‘Yoma’. Fresh off releases for Pattern and UV, the UK artist strips the track down for a deeper hypnotic take, one that makes great use of looping vocals, clustered synth mutations and meditative rhythms.
