Peres – Nocny [Soundteller Records]

Returning to Deersky's Soundteller Records, Peres presents his latest single 'Nocny'. With the Polish artist making his label debut last year with 'Planets', 2022 has proved to be prolific with this being his third project for the Polish imprint along with Future Avenue, LuPS Records and Soundteller affiliate Provider. 'Nocny' promises to be one of his best yet and comes alongside remixes from Ewan Rill and Nikko Mavridis.

The orignal mix finds a nice balance between melodic techno and progressive house. Quite old school sounding with big growling bass swells and nostalgic melodies, its tougher low end works well to keep that dance floor attention locked. Perhaps most memorable though is a wonderful melodic break, which goes from loud to soft in a timely manner, making the impending drop all the more satisfying.

Remixer extraordinaire Ewan Rill returns to the label for the first interpretation of 'Nocny'. Once again in fine form, the Russian artist and Sever Records boss strips the framework down for a tougher, more spacious take on the track. Fragmented parts of the lead theme play nicely across the percussive groove, before layers of atmosphere and melody bring a lighter monochrome to the journey. Gorgeous stuff from Ewan.

The release concludes with Nikko Mavridis returning to the label for the second and final interpretation of 'Nocny'. The Greek artist follows on from the June release of his 'Evergreen' single with a groovy rendition here. Fuelled by tight crunchy arps and a punchy low-end, its haunting vocal choirs and evolving atmospheres bring a lovely colour and texture to the mix, while a short but intoxicating break ultimately seals its dramatic appeal. Quality music from Nikko which rounds out a welcome return to Soundteller for Peres. Don't miss it.
