Releases Nick Wolanski & Jelly For The Babies – Theoretical Condition [Balkan Connection] By Release Promo Posted on 2nd March 2018 0 second read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin A much anticipated collaboration from Nick Wolanski and Jelly For The Babies finds a home on Balkan Connection this week. Hailing from the UK and Serbia respectively this is a first time collaboration from the duo having previously appeared in solo capacity on Baroque Records and Sound Avenue among others. Spread across two versions, the original mix of ‘Theoretical Condition’ leads the release off. It’s warm, fluid underbelly is incredibly inviting, setting the perfect foundation for a lovely complement of melodic elements. Although somewhat indistinct, their floaty, tranquil nature makes for a deeply engaging and powerful journey. A perfectly executed break brings rhythmic flair before dissipating into warm bassy swells and phasing noise. The Club Mix as you would expect brings the piece much closer to the dance floor with a reworked and superbly shaped groove. Deep and chunky, it’s funk and roll is irresistible while the melodic elements although reprocessed carry much of the magic from the original version. The lone interpretation is provided by Chaty & Tamez who are making their debut on the label. As frequent studio partners the duo have amassed an impressive discography highlighted by releases on Selador, Sincopat and Suruba. Their Balkan Connection debut impresses in a major way with a huge dance floor sensibility. It’s electric groove is undeniably infectious with classic proggy stabs and firing percussion leading the way. A short and timely break shifts the energy perfectly with a moogy arp continuing to fuel the rhythmic fire. Excellent remix from Chaty & Tamez which rounds out a massive release from Balkan Connection. Don’t miss it.
