Mike Griego – Solaris [Replug]

Cid Inc's Replug Records continues a successful year by welcoming Mike Griego back to the label for a new single. The Argentinean artist and progressive music favourite highlighted 2019 with the April release of his 'Decoy' EP for the Finnish imprint. The year saw further successes with a contribution to Hernan Cattaneo's Balance Sunstrip Strip compilation, along with his well received 'Sienna' EP via Sudbeat Music. Now presenting his first original project of 2020, Mike lands back on Replug with 'Solaris' alongside a remix from Cid Inc.

In what continues to be a productive partnership, Mike delivers some of his finest work to date for Replug with 'Solaris'. Warm beats, rippling bass tones and rolling percussion set the piece in motion, as harmonic drifts and fragmented melodies encase the framework. Tranquil arps further the narrative, perfectly foreshadowing a heartfelt centrepiece highlighted by harmonic overlays and luminous tones. As the break builds, a bed of thunderous bass begins an exhilarating rise, with modulation peaking as a vocal overlay sparks a driving finale.

Returning to his esteemed imprint and providing the lone interpretation of 'Solaris' is Henri Hurtig aka Cid Inc. The Finnish artist began the year in fine style with a remix for Einmusika, before teaming up with Replug label mate Orsen for a superb rendition of DJ Zombi's 'Octopus'. Perhaps sitting as 2020's highlight however was the March release Henri's 'Citadel' EP. Also coming courtesy of Replug, the two-track offering enjoyed an extended stay in Beatport's Progressive House charts, while receiving play from Guy J and Hernan Cattaneo. Now following a remix of D-Nox and Beckers 'Bitter Rain', Cid Inc returns to Replug with a thrilling take on 'Solaris'. Electrically charged with thumping kicks and a tighter take on the groove, it's energetic prowess beams brightly. Binding rhythmic flow with reprocessed vocals and dreamy arps makes for a sleek yet commanding first act. Colourful overlays heighten the senses as pixie-like melodies fades in and out of coherence leading into the break. Grandiose and soothing in equal measure, glowing tones highlight the centrepiece, elevating mood before getting washed away as the groove gallops towards a stirring final movement.

With 'Solaris' Mike Griego has added another important piece to his resume, one which gets 2020 off to a great start and continues his fruitful relationship with Cid Inc's Replug Records.
