Releases Max Blade – Moonlook [Stellar Fountain] By Release Promo Posted on 2nd June 2020 8 min read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin Stellar Fountain continues a strong spring season by welcoming Max Blade back to the label for a new single. Based in Santa Fe, the Argentinean artist first appeared on the Hungarian imprint in March of last year with a remix (in conjunction with Alejo Gonzalez) of 'Merciless Battles' by Magnovis. Also finding a home on John Digweed's Bedrock Records and Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, Max now returns to Stellar Fountain with 'Moonlook' alongside remixes from Renga Weh and Mauro Augugliaro. Beginning with the original mix Max showcases the pure progressive sensibilities he's become so loved for. Backed by a warm pulsating groove, smooth rhythms and clattering percussion, it’s both energetic and fluid. Wispy atmospherics and a haunting arp advance the narrative across the first act, before smoothly seguing into the main break. Brief but impactful, the centrepiece brings a calming effect with gaseous atmospheres and a ghostly wail, perfectly setting up a hypnotic final act. The first interpretation is provided by Renga Weh who returns to the label following his remix of Miraculum's 'Sunstill' from May of last year. A busy 2020 has seen the German artist showcase his music on DUNKELHEIT, Dynamica and The Purr. Now making a welcome return to Stellar Fountain, the Kulmain resident delivers a deep and powerful take on 'Moonlook'. Setting the piece in motion is a bed of tough beats and rolling bass tones, while a pensive arp and hazy atmospheres elevate mood as the narrative evolves. The main break brings a touch of tension as a rhythmic underbelly rises, eventually sparking a classy drop and groovy final. Rounding out the release and providing the second and final interpretation of 'Moonlook' is Mauro Augugliaro. Hailing from the talent rich region of Cordoba, the Argentinean artist boasts an impressive resume, having landed releases on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, Antrim's Or Two Strangers and Serbian powerhouse Balkan Connection. Now making his debut on Stellar Fountain, Mauro dials in a peak time take on 'Moonlook'. A pulsating groove, rhythmic drum work and fluid electronics make for a ball of energy and colour across the first act. The main arp then gets introduced and the mood shifts up tenfold with euphoric, feel good vibes running nicely into the break. The heartfelt interlude is a pure progressive fans dream as clusters of drums build below and the lead arps slowly get washed away into a fiery groove for the ultimate dance floor moment. A massive remix from Mauro which rounds out one of Stellar Fountain's best releases this year. Highly recommended.
