Mariner – Neverglades [Stellar Fountain]

The latest release from Stellar Fountain welcomes Marnier back to the label for a new single. Famed for being part of the Mariner + Domingo production duo, US artist Mariner has compiled an impressive resume since the emergence of organic house. Balkan Connection, Proton Music and Sound Avenue have all served as landing spots along the way, while Lee Burridge, Sebastien Leger and Tim Green have been steadfast supporters. Now, returning to Stellar Fountain in solo capacity, Mariner presents his latest studio offering 'Neverglades', alongside remixes from Audera and Billion Watchers.

Continuing his organic ways Mariner's latest ‘Neverglades’ showcases a wonderful character and musicality. Bursting with ultrasonic qualities, the US artist expertly marries soulful instrumentation with exotic drum arrangements for an expansive nine minute journey. It's fluttery, whimsical nature makes for several memorable moments, not the least of which is a broken beat finale complete with spirited vocal phrasing and reflective motifs.

Returning to the label for the first remix is Audera. The Italian artist found a home on the Hungarian imprint early in his career with a remix of Futur-E's 'Kinesis' in 2019, marking his third official release. More recently he remixed 'Egoist' by Ilya Gerus in 2021 and now provides a third remix for the label, taking 'Neverglades' into deeper territory. The tempo shifts down a touch here but the sentiment of the original remains, nicely accentuated with more robust, funkier grooves and a rhythmic complement that is sure to lift the spirit of your dance floor.

The release concludes with label stalwart Billion Watchers returning for the second and final remix. As one of the label’s biggest contributors over the last two years, the Russian artist has recorded seven originals and a remix, while also finding a home on 3rd Avenue and Massive Harmony Records. Here Billion Watchers flexes his remixer prowess with an even deeper take on 'Neverglades'. Laid back and groovy in equal measure, Billion Watchers elastic-like basslines and shuffly percussion set the backbone for a myriad of gorgeous organic qualities to round out the release in style. Beautiful work from Billion Watchers which caps off a welcome return to Stellar Fountain for Mariner, who along with occasional studio partner Chris Domingo continue to be some of the organic scene's brightest talents.
