Luciano Capomassi – Behind You [Soundteller Records]

Deersky's Soundteller Records rounds out the month of June by welcoming Luciano Capomassi to the label for his debut single. Hailing from Argentina, Luciano is early on in his production career, having first emerged last year with a contribution to AMITABHA's popular Deep & Natural series; a release which preceded his first official EP for the label 'Zulú | Niara' which rounded out the year. 2023 has seen the Rosario resident feature on 'Hidden Gems VII', a long running and beloved series from Jelly For The Babies The Purr imprint. Now, adding Soundteller Records to his resume, Luciano debuts on the label with 'Behind You', alongside remixes from Greg Ochman and Juan Ibanez.

Continuing on the organic vibe of his previous productions 'Behind You' lands with a lovely summer mood. Complete with soulful vocals, an array of exotic drums, tranquil sounding arps and dreamy pads, it's got everything you need to get a daytime dance floor moving. The progression is lovely as well, breaking some ground post break for a finale that is both serene and uplifting.

Returning to the label for the first remix is Greg Ochman who continues to be one of the most prolific organic house producers around. Always creative in his approach and fresh off EPs for Amulanga and Plattenbank, Greg takes 'Behind You' into more musical territory with sun-drenched motifs, emotive chord changes and great use of the vocal in a subtle, but ultimately very powerful way.

Rounding out the release is Soundteller artist Juan Ibanez who makes his seventh appearance on the label following his remix of Andy King's 'Pink Sands' from last year. The Argentinean artist puts a progressive spin on 'Behind You' in fine style with beefier grooves and streamlined percussion, which allows for a great sense of space. Reprocessed vocals breathe beautifully at opportune moments, sitting just below the surface, before making a full reveal during a gorgeous finale which caps the release off in reflective fashion.
