The latest release from Yegor Tsarkov's Specific Music welcomes Lucas Rodriguez to the label for his debut EP. After first appearing in January with a release on BQ Recordings, the Argentinean artist has showcased his music on Droid9 and Just Movement. Now with the summer season in full swing, Lucas debuts on Specific with 'Flashback'.

Beginning with the title and showcase piece ‘Flashback’ Lucas crafts am energetic, pure progressive narrative. Warm and groovy, it’s chunky low end is wonderfully shaped while detailed percussion, tightly wound arps and hazy atmospherics fill in the framework. Hypnotically inspired yet charming and melodic, it’s the main break which brings the most intensity, with a slow, deliberate build and smooth energy bridge into a tastefully epic finale.

The release concludes with the equally excellent ‘Only One’. While the design and overall vibe remain quite true to it's predecessor, there’s more of a hypnotic lean to this piece. Almost meditative at points and less distinct musically, it's a creation that excels on cadence and flow, replying on tight and timely transitions while it's musical themes which sit under a hazy harmonic resonance. A lovely track from Lucas, capping off another must have release for Yegor Tsarkov’s Specific Music. Highly recommended.
