Releases Kommodo – Saturn [Slideways Music] By Release Promo Posted on 12th October 2017 0 second read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin Tim Penner’s Slideways Music makes a welcome return this week with a new EP from Kommodo. I’ve remarked many times on the incredible music which has been coming out of Brazil in recent years and this surge of new talent continues with the Florianópolis based Kommodo. I first heard about him just weeks ago with a track on the excellent Timeless Moment imprint and now he makes his Slideways debut with the two track EP ‘Saturn’. Going back over Kommodo’s discography he has real knack for crafting moody, spaced out sonics and dark, groovy bass lines. The lead track ‘Saturn’ is a prime example of that with its astral storyboard and melancholic tones. The emotion is quite interesting, it’s mysterious and challenging in a way which makes for a very heady eight minute journey and the flow always stays on the right side of cool with no overblown or unnecessary moments. The companion piece ‘Arrow Of Time’ comes in a touch more melodic and carries a wonderful emotion as a result. Smooth harmonics steal your heart pretty quickly here as dulcet tones play effortlessly through the sonic haze. The break in particular is just dead gorgeous, building slowly with just enough drama to not overshadow that gorgeous wall of melody. My favourite of the two here and an amazing one to cap the release off. Kommodo is another exciting new name to keep a close eye and Slideways Music as always remains on the pulse of underground's finest new talent. Highly Recommended.
