Kamilo Sanclemente – Homeward [Clubsonica Records]

The latest release on Clubsonica Records welcomes Kamilo Sanclemente back to the label for a brand-new EP. Long regarded as one of Colombia's foremost progressive house talents, Kamilo has found a home on Einmusika, Manual Music and Parquet Recordings, while earning continued support from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Guy J. Now fresh off a remix for ICONYC, Kamilo returns to Clubsonica for his debut artist showcase entitled 'Homeward'.

In a journey spread across three tracks it's the chunky grooves of 'Gemma' which gets things underway. Fast becoming Kamilo's trademark, it's free flowing storyboard is a delight for the senses, with the first act taking shape as a tasteful arp fades into prominence. Deeply hypnotic, the energy shifts with clustered claps and sizzling modulation, before eventually culminating in a tepid rush of crystalline melodies and airy vocal pads.

The pure progressive house vibes continue with the EP's second selection 'People From The Future'. Kamilo's penchant for warm, contoured grooves is what makes this such a dance floor gem. Deep, rolling and with a bevy of momentum it anchors the tight rhythmic core and dulcet hooks perfectly. A lone vocal stab adds epic flair as the jangly melodies evolve, before getting washed away as a spiritual vocal initiate a classy drop and purring finale.

The release concludes with its title and showcase piece 'Homeward' which sits as the most reflective of the three. On a backbone of pulsating bass comes acidic rhythms and symphonic pads. The smooth euphoric build is expertly executed and perfectly dialled for the dance floor as cascading arps and phasing harmonics carry through a poignant second act. Positively electric yet remarkably restrained this gentle sonic vortex culminates, before giving way to the warm, euphoric groove once more. It rounds out three stunning tracks from Kamilo, which further cements his place in the progressive house elite.
